Re: Effects/Transistions? 6/15/2005 11:01:00 AM   (Total replies: 0)
I would tend to agree. I always keep trying to use some transitions, but most end up looking cheesy. IMHO much of the time the use of a lot of transitions just makes movies look amateurish. Unless the transition calls for a cool transition effect, I tend to do very simple ones anyway. But then again my opinion. YMMV danh

Any way to freeze a clip 8/12/2005 11:45:34 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I have been trying to find a way to freeze the end of a clip. Similar to say, in a movie when at the end of the movie they have the guys jumping up in the air and then freeze the video while they are in the air. Basically pausing the video at the last frame for a period of time. danh

That sort of works. But it is not seamless and you can tell you basically flipped up a photo at the end of the clip. It ends up looking sloppy. danh

Re: Picture in picture problem 6/15/2005 10:02:15 PM   (Total replies: 0)
Rehan, 1. PIP freeware 2. The photos were created by adding the photos with about .72 seconds for each photo. Each photo was a jpg approx 150k. I then rendered it as a DV-AVI video. All the rest of my video was captured off my DV camcorder using WMM at the DV-avi setting. 3. I have tried several other tests since then the PIP with 2 normal video clips seems to work fine. Another stock transition using the photo-video and another clip exhibit similar problems. From this I have ...

I am trying to use Rehan's PIP transition to create the following effect. While my video is running I want up in the corner a running video of still pictures to the beat of the music. Originally I tried dragging the photos with the proper timing onto the timeline. Then I added the video. I stuck in Rehan's PIP transition and tried to drag it to the left. Since I had a series of still photos the transition would only allow me to drag it one photo to the left. So instead I took my ...

I may have to download the trial. The key is the ability for multiple video and audio tracks. I am somewhat skeptical as most of the video editing software I have tried in this price range is very similar in features as WMM. Let us know how you like it. danh

Next step up 6/15/2005 10:27:57 AM   (Total replies: 1)
I have been using WMM2 for the last couple of years. Pretty much exclusively for family videos of my now 2 year old daughter. I have had some ideas for new movies which involve being able to do things that I just don't think WMM is up to. Namely having the ability for multiple video or audio tracks. I downloaded a premiere evaluation, and while it is nice it is EXPENSIVE. I don't do this for profit so I am hoping there is something out there that gives me some more power, but not quite ...

Did your burner come with any software? Both of my Burners came with DVD burning software. It doesn't have all of the features of the purchased versions but it has worked fine for my needs. danh
