I checked out your website, and you have lots of cool music there! On top of that, I see that you also made a feature-length indie film! Awesome!

Why no mention of the $50-60 entry fee?

Pretty cool, very impressive! I've looked into Hitfilm myself, but the short (and longer) films that I work on have fewer special effects as I've gotten older, but I used to do a lot of stop-motion and miniature effects, rarely anything even approaching Hitfilm level! When I worked on "real" movies it was making things like rubber monsters and fake trees for sci-fi horror films, and that was back in the 1980s, before CGI computer effects took over the FX field. Progress! Time marches on! ...

Microsoft killing off MOVIE MAKER and LIVE MOVIE MAKER (about which this web domain was likely created to promote and support) is the likely cause here. Most folks seem to have moved on to other editing software and online tools, and considering Microsoft's apathy and ignorance about their own software, I can't blame people for moving on.

I agree, but as long as the software still works on a Windows 10 PC, there's no need to stop using it unless extra features and effects are needed. I still use WMM with the Pixelan Spice Packs I purchased years ago. Oh, I use other free or inexpensive software when necessary, but I still enjoy the MS video editing software. Use whatever works is a good policy. Cheers!

I left a new reply below. Bottom line: use whatever works! I must admit I've grown to enjoy the ease of Windows Live Movie Maker for quick, easy projects, over the original Movie Maker versions. (Never thought I'd admit to that!)

My reply to your post below about what happened to this site being so slow: Microsoft killing off MOVIE MAKER and LIVE MOVIE MAKER (about which this web domain was likely created to promote and support) is the likely cause here. Most folks seem to have moved on to other editing software and online tools, and considering Microsoft's apathy and ignorance about their own software, I can't blame people for moving on.

Re: There's Lava in my house 4/8/2017 4:49:10 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Hey, that's looks cool! It reminds me a bit of the lava effects in some sci-fi and disaster movies from the 1960s and 1970s. Not perfect, but very effective! Keep up the good work! I've never used a green screen, so from what I've seen, this looks better than most of the video I've seen done this way by home video filmmakers. I may not be back for a while, so I wish you good luck!

I don't think as many people come here anymore, other than lurkers and spambots, etc. I only visit once a month or so these days. As for your videos, they're fast and funny. I bet the kids enjoy doing them (and seeing them). Cheers!
