Re: camera effect please! 1/4/2007 6:09:45 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I got this working just fine and wanted to change the picture overlay. I was able to do that by changing the xml code and making a picture. I did so using photoshop with a hole in the middle, but the quality of the picture is distorted. How do I save the picture overlay? .png is what i used, but i used no special values on the .png. Should I have? Also, the forum's search function isn't showing results. Could you please lead me to a post where I can shrink the video into maybe 25% of its ...

WMM 2 problem after MPEG_Streamclip (VRO converter) installation 9/29/2006 8:26:39 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I went on PapaJohn's website to figure out how to convert my .VRO files into .AVI. I read one of the posters recommend the MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-win.html). I downloaded that and Quicktime Alternative (a requisite for the converter). Now I can't open WMM projects. It says "quartz.dll" problem. I tried unchecking all of those from the compatibility, but even though the project now loads and shows the clips, I cannot play it. Please help. I can't even ...

Best Digital Camcorder for clips? HD, DVD or mini-DV? 3/8/2008 5:52:01 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Please recommend what you've found to be the easiest camcorder type to use. I'll be buying one soon. I wonder if the DVD or mini-DV's are as easy to rip and convert just like a regular DVD can be ripped from DVD Decrypter? That takes my laptop such a long time to do, though, so would a hard drive be easiest to use? Do they record into a .mpeg or .avi? Which camcorder type does that? Thanks.

"Garden State" movie's fast-fwd effect 5/27/2007 11:07:03 AM   (Total replies: 1)
How can I do the Garden State effect, when Zach Braff's character is sitting still and everyone moves quickly around him? I thought I could have a person stay still, while others are moving quickly and randomly about. Then in MM, I can do Speed x8 or something fast, and maybe a little blur? Or is the technique in the number of frames, etc.? Can that effect be done just like I described it, or would it be less smooth?

Scrapbook flipping 2/9/2007 8:17:16 PM   (Total replies: 2)
Could anyone guide me to an effect where there's a nice, old-fashioned scrapbook that flips open to a video. Is there one that does it automatically, so that I won't have to shrink the vid? I think a Ulead Program does this, any for Moviemaker? Maybe have the scrapbook "flip" pages to a new video scene?

Panning only effects 2/15/2007 3:17:20 PM   (Total replies: 1)
I looked in search topics for panning, but only came up with general WW problems. So my question is... I'd like a PAN only effect (NO zooming like in Daniel's effects), hopefully in many directions, at least the 4. Anyone have a code for that, and for the video to slide in from left, or right, etc? Thanks!

Re: Panning only effects 2/17/2007 7:51:01 PM   (Total replies: 1)
The package on Rehan's website seems to be for "pan AND zoom." I only want a pan/or have the video slide from left or right, etc. Is there already a free effect like that? Thanks.

Re: Panning only effects 2/17/2007 11:34:51 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Yes, there will be empty space. No distortion or stretching. For example, I want the videoclip to slide from left to right of the screen. So a part of the first clip will appear from the left side (while the right side is black, or if it's overlay video, a second clip), and will slide across to the right side until the black space is covered by this sliding clip. It could stop once the whole width of the clip covers the screen. Or another option may be that it keeps going until it gradually ...

Re: What is stop frame animation? 2/15/2007 3:13:47 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Considerate Guy, is there a transition that can mimic the stop frame effect on MM? Or perhaps a shortcut to do this effect from a video? Or is the best way just to cut up the video into tiny pieces and remove intermediate clips? Thanks.

Removing frames using Virtualdub? Decimate? 1/4/2007 3:26:50 PM   (Total replies: 0)
I'd like to remove some frames from a video so that it will look choppy (have a flipbook effect). I do NOT mean cutting or splitting. For example, if there are 1000 frames, I'd like to randomly take out 500 frames within the clip so that only 500 frames are left but the whole movie has a beginning and ending story (i guess the clip will be half in length). It's ok if the audio gets bad. I think i read somewhere that Virtualdub can do this, the term may be "decimate?" but I can't find a ...
