thanks papajohn for the fast response. I did that but still the same results. I have tried to import alot of my old footage and noticed that no matter if it breaks it into 3 clips or 20 clips it will actually play the first clip but if I move to the 5th, 10th or 20th clip it will do what I described above but yet I go back to the first clip it will play fine in the window. anymore ideas?

FIXED I tried a hole bunch of crap and finally did what I read about first but didnt think that would be it cause its always been there. I turned the hardware accleration down to one below half way and that turns off directdraw. dont know what that means but it worked. for those that experience it. right click your desktop, settings, advanced, troubleshooting then turn the slider down for the hardware acceleration...... thanks for all the help... yall rock.

direct x is the lastest and the video driver was updated in january but one has came out on feb 22 so I will update to that and see if I can turn it back up. I just got done with the video and WOW this core 2 duo set up makes it a heck of alot easier making a video. within the video I did take 3 snap shots from the video using the photo button and it worked fine, is that what you are talking about?
