Changing file types. 3/7/2006 12:14:18 PM   (Total replies: 7)
I know how to get videos from Youtube and google video, but they're both in weird file types that I can't use in Windows Movie Maker. Youtube videos are .FLV and google videos are .GVP. Anyone know how to convert those to files I could use in WMM? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. So I'm not going to be able to convert .gvp files to use in my movie? And I tried using Riva to convert my .flv videos into .wmv, but it kept messing up. It has an error before it's done converting and only converts part of the video. And the part of the video it converts is kinda messed up. Small squares kinda show up periodically and make it hard to see the video.

I used Riva and converted a flash file into a mpg, but the quality was really bad, so I tried turning it into a wmv and the video doesn't work on it. I only see black. Any suggestions? The website says it doesn't support wmv 9, but what does that mean? How do I know which wmv I'm turning it into?

Need to know how to cut off bottom and top part of screen 2/12/2006 5:52:28 PM   (Total replies: 1)
Here is an example of what I'm talking about. http://media.putfile.com/show36 I want to be able to cut off the text on the bottom and the "*STAR TV" at the top. Luckily, it wouldn't be cutting off any of the video if I could do that, because it's in a black area. Is there any way to do this? Thanks.

Well I tried to make it easier so you could just click on the link, but I'm a little too stupid for that. Sorry.

I keep trying to go to papajohn.org and do what it says, but my explorer keeps getting an error and closing all my windows. Is that picture you provided black lines? For some reason they don't look black to me. All I wanted was to have black there on the video so it blends in and looks like the words at the bottom and top are not there.

How do I overlay a picture onto a video?

What I wanted was just to have the "STAR TV" and the words at the bottom of the screen to be cut off completely. I can't go to papajohn.org becuase it crashes and gives me errors whenever I try to read it. So could you tell me how to do it here? I've been reading that I need an XML file? How do I make the correct XML file so that I can cover up the words on my video?

Ok, I have now accidentally added an overlay that I don't want and now I can't get rid of it. Even if I delete the video that it's on and put the video back, it's still there. How do I take it off?
