For information: I posted a query about whether you could run WMM2.6 alongside 6 until this problem gets resolved and 'oldgoaly' came up with this:"Check out Desilucy's Vista Issues last item in common questions" <a href="http://desilucy.com/index.php?lvl=2Vista">WMMStart</a> Might be worth a try until we get a patch.

Had a similar problem with a PC at work (networked). We played around for a while but all we could find was that the OS was XP, SP1. We don't know if that's relevant but we just moved to another PC and got it working.

There's a link to a download at <a href="http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/Forums/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=145542">this thread</a> However I think it's for XP and presumably you need something for Vista. Have a look anyway.

The prog 'Convert X to DVD seems to handle most file formats and certainly works with WMV. You've got the whole package there. Load a blank DVD, import your movie file and click Convert. Does the conversion and burning all in one operation. Settings give the options for Menus or not.

Excellent. Thanks for the follow up. Incidentally, I'm using WMM in my work - Adult Literacies in Falkirk, Scotland. The adult learners I'm working with are amazed at the results we can get using the resources provided on this forum. For the opportunities it offers and the positive changes it makes to ordinary folks lives, it's a goldmine.

Hey, nice one Nicholas. I've got a 30 second still image of a spooky forest scene I wanted to incorporate into a movie but it needed some dynamics. Got your xml, used the Green to Blue option and I've a forest scene that cycles through the seasons from spring to cold winter right before my eyes. The original's got to be just right for this to work. I've tried it with others but can't get the same effect. Thanks for this - it has a lot of potential.

Nick, I've been searching for an xml that I'm sure I saw a while back but can't find it now. As you're 'The Man' in this field you might know. I need a code to go from grayscale through to the original full color - Wizard of Oz kind of thing. Any ideas? Thanks Greenglen
