Unwanted Black Border on Imported Video 8/17/2013 4:01:58 PM   (Total replies: 2)
In Movie Maker 6.0 I imported a brief video (from JibJab). After it is converted to either .wmv or .avi there is a black border at the top and bottom of the screen in Movie Maker. How do I get rid of those unwanted borders?

When this clip is produced by JibJab it says " Frame Width 640" and Frame "Height 360." When converted by Format Factory to .avi its "aspect ration is 4:3." I do not use widescreen.

Blaine, I'm sorry to say that I am going in circles. All I do in Jib Jab is click on Felice Navidad and when it opens I personalize it (by adding faces). I do not see anywhere in that process to select or change the aspect ratio. I use Format Factory to convert it to .avi format. Again, I do not see where I can select or change ratio. When I change the aspect ratio in Movie Maker it produces a clip with black borders all around the picture. So that has not helped. A new issue is that I ...

Hi Blaine, I am impressed with your calculations. Thanks for doing all of that thinking about this. I apppreciate it very much. I'll try starting a new project of just the JibJab and changing the aspect ration and see what happens. Many thanks, Curt

Re: Free DVD Ripper 10/14/2009 9:15:23 AM   (Total replies: 1)
Neo, I downloaded WinX DVD Ripper, but it was a trial version good only for less than 5 minutes use. The message said that the Fre Platinum offer expired October 1st. Any suggestyions. This free offer was timely for me. I am making multiple copies of a set of DVDs using RecordNow. When copying the last DVD in the set (naturally), Record Now started acting up. It is rejecting every blank DVD I try to use and they are all good, new ones and have worked fine when copying the earlier disks ...

Rob, Your link leads to several choices for downloading WinX DVD Ripper. The choice dated September 16th (the one next to the bottom of the list) is the correct one. It leads to winx-dvd-ripper-pt-full-oct.exe which is the free program. The "oct" in that link is the key to being the free version.

What shareware converts mvi to wmv?

Neo, Thank you Super did i! Just to make a long story, I tried Super earlier, before I had changed the file extension, Super got part-way through the process and said that it could not convert the file and suggested that I install the most current version of Super. When I tried to do that, the new version said it needed to remove my existing version. I agreed but after it removed my working version it found that it could not install the new version because it could not find several ...

Neo, Thanks for that suggestion. Super worked so well that converting was not a problem and I am avoiding Windows Live Movie Maker. I have Windows Live Movie Maker, and versions 2.6 and 6.0. I have not tried using Windows Live Movie Maker. All that I read about it seemed to suggest that most people have been disappointed with it. Since I seem to be doing everything with 6.0 now. I have been wondering whether I should uninstall Windows Live Movie Maker and 2.6 to avoid conflict or ...

The 848,299 KB MVI and 77 tiff images were on a DVD I received in the mail. I do not know the source of the MVI file. I tried every program I could think of but could not convert the MVI.
