Help Please with this transition.....slowly turning....
Posted: 04 Jan 2007 03:11 AM
Hi. Let me see if I can describe this right. I am looking for this transition which is very popular, I see it alot in sample DVD slideshows when searching the net. OK...when a picture is slowly zooming out and then it is turning slowly to the correct position. Almost like turning from a 30 degree angle to the correct position. Did I describe it ok? Please give me some advice on how I can do this or where can I get it from, free or not, I need it.

Thanks so much.

The pip+2 plugin will make very short work of that effect - Hopefully a release is not to distant now Big Smile

I noticed the slight rotation in a DVD photo slideshow the other day too.
I thought there ought to be some way of doing this in MM while waiting for PIP+2.

I was trying to think of existing effects which spin or rotate such as the newspaper title, the spin transition, rotate effects...

So I had a go with the Simple3D class of the Windows Media Transform Effects (WMTFX).
I can get it to spin from about 12 o'clock to 11 or 1.
You can try tweaking it a bit more yourself if it comes close to what you want.
To avoid black bars showing as it rotates, I also zoomed in a bit - you can see I tried a few values of ScaleA and InitialScaleA.
I couldn't get the parameters right to get it to directly spin the other way, say from 11 o'clock to 12. However you could combine it with another effect which had a static rotation to start with or just rotate a still picture in the first place in some other graphics program like IrfanView or Picasa2.

Thanks for the responses. It seems like there should be an effect like this. Here is an example I found over the internet of what I am talking about. The effect will play one minute into the slideshow. http://pixeldustdvd.com/includes/baby_broadband.html (no dashes, but keep underscore) Let me know if there is any way of doing this. Thanks again.

Glow i added this in to the pinned thread. thank you.

When you use this effect. it should only be applied once and not more , if so your W<< freezes?

if the rotation can be made not at the end but more in the Middle, then you are able to apply some WMM trans and effects to get waht you want.

1 if the rotation is in the Middle:

save that segment and reload

2 option A split the beginning and end, and apply rotate 90 degree you have your effect.

2 option B split beginning end, and use a reverse on the movie and then add 90 degreem but you'll need 3rd party sftwr forreverse.

2 option c add rotation 270
so it ispossable to work out. it is a idea?
