Courtesy of Rehan and HittheBongo...

You'll need the PIP+ plugin obtained from Rehan's Site There is a free trial. Now, download and install that. Next, we look onto Hitthebongo's Site and download these packs. You're lucky these are in a zip file, easier to work with. Now, extract them as you would a normal zip file. It should come up automatically with the following location:

C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX

(If you don't have the AddOnTFX folder, make it, and extract to that location.)

Next:
Load up Movie Maker
Drag the video onto the timeline
In the task pane, select "view video effects".
Add the effect "BFX Sniper Sight 1" to the clip.

Hope it works, any problems just ask.

OK, best bet is to get a picture of it off the internet. On an image-editing program like Fireworks or Photoshop, make the centre (where James Bond stands) completely transparent.

Then, save it as "bond.png" into the AddOnTFX folder.

Copy and paste the following XML code into Notepad, and save as "bond.xml" (type that exactly as your filename) into the AddOnTFX folder.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0" SpecialIconFileID="1033" SpecialIconResourceID="101">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{0BEDE179-3361-4eea-9058-11CBB1739D50}">
<Effect name="James Bond Overlay" iconid="0">
<Param name="BorderA" value="C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\bond.png" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Restart Movie Maker. If you have the PIP+ plugin installed, you will find a new effect called James Bond Overlay. Follow the instructions I said in my post above to use it.

Good luckSmiley

I got your set of effects, i want to use the sniper sight 1.
what i am after is to have it run as is for a set time then enlarge to go full screen with no sight.
As if the camera was coming out the end of the sight.
I hope this makes some sense???
I know what i want but is hard to explain.

Take a look at these Frame titles.
instead of using a frame overlay you could try using the png image used for the sniper scope overlay . It might need some tweaking to probably zoom in further , but I think it might work.

hitthebongo, THANKS,
Never been game to alter these things before but with a little trial & error it works great.
I put my movie onto Save File for people to d/load.
If any one would like to see.
Here tis----http://www.savefile.com/files/429792

Her's what i did,

<Title name="BFX Sniper Sight" iconid="13">
<Param name="InternalName" value="TitleStandard"/>
<Param name="Description" value="Frame eases in/out - Text at bottom"/>
<Param name="OptimalDurationMultiplier" value="2.0"/>
<Param name="EntranceVideoRect" value="0.0 0.0 1.0 1.0"/>
<Param name="MainVideoRect" value="0.0 0.00 1.0 1.0"/>
<Param name="ExitVideoRect" value="0.0 0.0 1.0 1.0"/>
<Param name="RenderOrder" value="RenderFirst" />
<Param name="RenderOrder" value="RenderLast" />
<Param name="LogoBitmapFilename" value="AddOnTFX\Bfxframes\snipersight5gi.png"/>
<Param name="LogoRect" value="0.0 0.0 1.0 1.0"/>
<Param name="BackgroundColor1" value="Purple"/>
<Param name="BackgroundColor2" value="palevioletred"/>
<Param name="FrontColor1" value="black"/>
<Paragraph>
<Param name= "IsBold" value= "True" />
<Param name="BoundingRect" value="0.1 0.85 0.8 0.1" />
<Param name="EntranceEffect" value="EffectNone"/>
<Param name="EntranceZoom" value="2.0 2.0"/>
<Param name="MainZoom" value="1.0 1.0"/>
<Param name="ExitZoom" value="8.0 8.0"/>
<Param name="EntranceDuration" value="2.5"/>
<Param name="ExitDuration" value="2.5"/>
<Param name="ExitEffect" value="EffectZoomout"/>
<Param name="IsOneLine" value="False"/>
<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="30"/>
</Paragraph>
</Title>

Didn't alter the colours, wasn't sure what to do, but didn't effect anything.
Again thanks for your help.
Neil.

Hello.

I am new here, and I have a query. (Sorry if this is digging up an old topic.)

I have a dilemma. I have downloaded the PIP+ Plugin, and the Sniper Scope overlay pack too.

I have placed the exact gun barrel image, with a transparent centre in the AddOnTFX folder (It is the PNG Image, named bond.png)

I have copied the exact code,
<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0" SpecialIconFileID="1033" SpecialIconResourceID="101">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{0BEDE179-3361-4eea-9058-11CBB1739D50}">
<Effect name="James Bond Overlay" iconid="0">
<Param name="BorderA" value="C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\bond.png" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

into a notepad document, and placed that in the AddOnTFX folder. I start up WMM, open up the effect menu, click on the 'James Bond Overlay', and see that there isn't a gun barrel there, only blankness.
Here is a screenshot of what it looks like.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v471/thunderraichu/jamesbondoverlayproblem.png

Could someone please help?

(Once again, sorry for digging up an old topic. But it's better to dig up an old one, than create a completely new one.)

Can you post a link to the PNG file you are using?
If you are using more than one monitor, you might like to try just using one as PIP+ is known to have a problem with multiple monitors.

I use Firefox+Greasemonkey scripts for easier editing of forum posts, FAQs and displaying embedded images Wink

Hi, just started using Movie Maker on XP.

Could someone please explain to me how to add the James Bond title animation "bond.png" & "bond.xml" files in to the XP version of Movie Maker?

In my XP version there was no AddOnTFX folder. I created it and added the two files.

When I ran Tools Titles & Credits I am unable to see or select the James Bond Overlay.

I think I'm missing part of the process. Sorry to be asking what must be a basic question, could anyone pity me by explaining?

Thanks very much.

Right, read the full thread & managed to get the effect working brilliantly. However it only plays for 2 seconds.

How do I extend the duration of the effect? I want it to last 10 seconds.

Thanks.

Just scroll down to the 'Title Overlay' track and stretch the duration of the title.

Great sorted that out, thanks.

One last question, as mentioned above by another member I would like to zoom out of the barrel to the full screen video view. I used the code quoted above but after updating the transition file the overlay stopped appearing in the video transition menu option.

Anybody got any ideas or could they possible quote the code?

Thanks.
