Rotating Zoom

Is is possible to create a zoom effect that allows you to zoom in on a still photo while it rotates?

Thanks

Try this. I'm not sure if it will work.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{B4DC8DD9-2CC1-4081-9B2B-20D7030234EF}">
<Effect name="Rotation zoom" iconid="33" comment="Ease In">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="bigger" />
<Param name="ExponentialProgressDuration" value="0.01" />
<Param name="RevolveCamera" value="true" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Whoops! The one above flips, not rotates. Here's one that rotates.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{B4DC8DD9-2CC1-4081-9B2B-20D7030234EF}">
<Effect name="Rotation zoom" iconid="33" comment="Ease In">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="bigger" />
<Param name="ExponentialProgressDuration" value="0.01" />
<Param name="RotateA" value="left" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

If you have a large clip, both the zoom and rotation will be slow, so you might want to try doing it for a segment of the clip, or you could separate the xml for the zoom and rotate and try saving them as separate effects, then applying both.

THanks. That seems to work pretty well.

Would it be possible to rotate and pan out?

You mean, the same effect, but zooming out?

Whoops. Change the parameter value of ScaleA to the word smaller with one r when you copy it.

Hi Jeb,

Your Rotate and Zoom routine is exactly what I'm looking for. But, sorry for the real newbie question, do I add the XML code to an existing file, create a new file (what name would it carry and could I create it with Notepad?) and which folder would this go in?

Assumng I do all of the above OK, how would it show up in MM2 so that I could select it?

I'm sure this sort of question has been asked a gazillion times, so pointing me to a previous answer would work.

Thanks for the help.

Charlie

You have to create a new file using Notepad and save it as an XML and put it on the \Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX folder and presto!!

Then, when you open MM under transitions you'll see it.

Re: Rotating Zoom ... making progress

Thanks CrazyIvan

Looking good so far.

Need something slightly different, however ... want to rotate and zoom in an image exactly the same way the "Newspaper" animation does for titles ... start small but end with full-size image (no border around image as newspaper shows).

Also would like it to "spin-in" quickly as does the newspaper animation.

How would I change the "rotate and zoom" XML code to accomplish that?

Thanks

Charlie

Hey Jeb134!

Is there an effect IDENTICAL to the Rotation Zoom, BUT instead of GOING OUT, is zooms from black nothingness to the screen?
