Here is a set of four motion blur effects: Left, Right, Up, Down. Change the Direction and Strength parameters to suit to your tastes...

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{DD13DE77-D3BA-42D4-B5C6-7745FA4E2D4B}" comment="Motion Blur">
<Effect name="Motion blur: Right" iconid="0">
<Param name="Strength" value="30" />
<Param name="Direction" value="270.0" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Motion blur: Left" iconid="0">
<Param name="Strength" value="30" />
<Param name="Direction" value="90.0" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Motion blur: Up" iconid="0">
<Param name="Strength" value="30" />
<Param name="Direction" value="180.0" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Motion blur: Down" iconid="0">
<Param name="Strength" value="30" />
<Param name="Direction" value="0.0" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Instructions: As usual copy paste the code above to notepad and save as motionblur.xml in the folder C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX. make the folder if not already there. Restart WMM.

Enjoy.

Hey could you make it so the blur stops when you stop moving?

So its like a trail? or is that not possible in MM2?

Just cut out the clip using the scissor tool where things are moving and apply the effect only to that clip.

i mean like on i movie, there is a blur that eases in and out depending on the movement, but it doesn't sound possible, oh well.

PS that Blood splatter transition you did was awsome, now i can draw my own png files and make custom transititons, its great cheers
