PiP... is this possible?
Posted: 05 Oct 2006 03:48 PM
Well I just need some quick help here, I did search but not really anything useful...

Anyway, what I wanted was a simple Picture in Picture, like the corner ones but having this one somewhere else instead, the bottom center, and a bit bigger than the one that is available right now (the one I have for bottom center is a bit too small for what i need)

this is the size im talking about (the square...)

If this is possible.. can someone make the code for me please? Thanks. And yes I do have PiP+ software.

Thanks, Zoton2

Just use the one you have, edit the .xml file so that you move the top position (values 2 and 3) a little right and up. Then increase the size of the PIP box (values 4 and 5). All the details are on the PIP+ pages on Rehan's site (www.rehanfx.org). Remember, everything is relative to 1.0 (full horizontal) or 1.0 (full vertical).

For example, values of 0, 0.30, 0.55, 0.40, 0.40 should do the trick. That is over 30%, down 55%, and a size of 40% of the screen (horizontal and vertical).

You can do this one without having to install PIP+, just using the built-in Simple3D.
Using the examples from Rehan's original PIP
I modified the PIP, bottom transition to make it fit your example.
I borrowed Rehan's thumbnail icon so you'd need to have the rehanpip.dll in your AddOnTFX folder to see the icon.

Standard instructions for using Windows Movie Maker XML:
1. Copy and paste into Notepad or any text editor.
2. Save in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\anyname.xml
- assuming C: is your system drive and create the AddOnTFX folder if necessary
- In Notepad make sure you save as .xml, not .txt by using File - Save As... - Save as type = All files
- Confirm the file has .xml extension by turrning off the "hide extensions of known file types" from Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View.
3. Restart Movie Maker.
