A Super Opening Title Sequence... Posted: 01 Oct 2006 11:43 PM |
This one isn't mine but I think it's pretty neat... while working on the next newsletter and testing SUPER Converter, I started with a VOB file from a DVD and converted it to a file that worked in Movie Maker.
The file happened to be the opening for Chuck Bentley's 'An English Mystery'... just wanted to share it with you.

Wow ! What a truly fantastic intro sequence...That is about as perfect as perfect can get ! It's up there with the animation intro of one of my most favoured films "catch me if you can"
LUV it.

That was one of the coolest looking thing I have seen. That the level I want to be at. I've been playing around with MM2 for about a year now. I made one movie which I'm pretty proud of. I haven't work with MM2 in a while and just getting back in the swing of things. I'm going over all the post in the forum trying to pick up things, a lot of it is going over my head. Especially the XML information that I'm reading. but I plan on plugging through it, because working with MM2 is so much fun.

it's Chuck Bentley's movie... he had the opening title clip made by Mike and Don Citarella... when they were younger and lived here in Kalamazoo.
They must have liked it too... here it is many years later, they moved to New York... while I moved from New York to Kalamazoo.... I see it featured in their current website portfolio:
era 404 - Porfolio Item
and while you're at their site, the lower left 'View the Promo' link shows you a recently developed new standard opening for Chuck's current films.

| Yes it is a brilliantly slick animaton apart from it was just a little fast an jerky in places. The bit of footage at the end looks professional but not quite big screen film quality. Did someone you know make this? |

I ripped the couple minutes from a high quality DVD... and rendered it to a much lower quality file for online viewing.
Yes, Chuck Bentley made the movie... a friend we see at Barnes & Noble most every night. Chuck did all the video shots, but had someone else do the animation sequence used in the opening. |

he had the title opening sequence made by Mike and Don Citarella... you could ask them at their website at
era404
go to their Portfolio and then to Electronic Theatre, which is Chuck's logo (if that's the right word)
they have the same clip in their gallery on the site... so they must have liked it too |

| Yes, converting 00.00 USD into GBP requires a level of calculus beyond my skills. I'll leave that to the experts. I think it is close to 1,000,000 GBP, but I'm probably off by a logarithm factor of 7 or so. I wouldn't trust my answer beyond the last 6 digits since I not sure my calculator was able to accurately calculate that first digit. It might be off slightly. |

| Does anyone have a program similar to SUPER but doesn't need 126 mb of free space? |

| If you can't afford 126MB to install a small program like SUPER Converter, you aren't going to get very far with video editing. You'll need *giga*bytes of free disk space to convert most files, so it hardly matters how big the conversion program is. |

| I have to agree with Blaine. If you can't find 126MB then you desperatly need to make space or inves ton a new hardrive. |
