Adorage Transitions End Abruptly. Solutions? (Video example) Posted: 02 Aug 2006 08:11 PM |
I recently purchased the Adorage MovieMaker Effects packages 1, 2 and 3.
I discovered that most of the transitions in Package 1 and some in Package 2 end abruptly rather than smoothly, as if the .xml was not written to smoothly end the transition. See the video example at:
Adorage Transition Test
I've determined that the abrupt transition ending is not dependent on transition length nor on the quality of the rendered movie. It occurs will low quality movies (the example here) and high quality movies (2.1 Mbps 640x480). I do not experience the problem with other high quality effects (SpiceFX). I don't suspect equipment problems.
Is there a solution to this problem? Or, is this a flaw in the product? Because the transitions are so choppy, I find them almost useless for my movies. |

| Bob, I too noticed this right after I purchased it. In fact there are only a few of the Adorage Transitions that I do use for this same reason. Does anyone out there have a solutions? |

| I doubt there are any settings in the XML that would be useful, but if you want to post a copy of the Adorage .xml file, we can take a look. Since the XML calls a custom DLL, it's probably the DLL that is failing to finish the transition, not the XML. |

Well, I'm lost...
This isn't an .xml file, but Adorage must use this separate data file to control things. Since I don't have Adorage, can you give the name of the transitions you thought were abrupt? |

Sorry, I guess I'm lost too..a couple names are Adorage01_2d:into depth and Adorage 01_2d Contrary. Hope this helps!
Thanks.
P.S. Is there anyway for me to remove the file I copied into this site? |

Solution from Adorage Posted: 16 Aug 2006 01:14 PM |
Wow. What great customer service from Adorage. They sent me a decent solution about 3 days after I emailed them. It appears to be a problem with one of the .dll files within the program. Adorage sent the following replacement file. It hasn't total fixed the problem, but it's a step in the right direction.
If you have the Adorage packs, I recommend you give Adorage feedback and encouragement. They seem exceptionally willing to come up with a solution.
Here's a summary of the conversation so far. Notice the directory where you need to install the replacement .dll file.
On second thought, I can't seem to post the file. I'll try to post it next week unless someone can host it here somewhere.
---------------------------------
---------------------------------
Dear Bob,
here is the new DLL.
This one is optimized for 2.0sec. duration.
All non-somke effects are runs with any durations.
Only the somke-effects are adjusted.
Because Movie Maker use non-frame-based rendering and for this is the change.
Other NLE like Adobe Premiere don't need this change.
Note:
The best results gets DV-Pal or DV-Ntsc.
Results like "Pocket ..." are not so good.
Best regards,

Re: Solution from Adorage Posted: 16 Aug 2006 07:09 PM |
My webhost is back up. Here is the link to the beta fix for Adorage transitions that end abruptly. Again, Adorage had lightening quick customer service and seemed very willing to create a solution, so I recommend you continue giving them feedback about the fix.
Adorage Transition Fix
Unzip the .dll and copy it into your "C:\Program Files\AdorageI-SAL" folder. You'll be copying over the original file.
This is a BETA, so you may wish to make a copy of the original .dll before you overwrite it. |
