Help with Picutr in Picture effect
Posted: 30 Jul 2006 06:21 AM
Could anyone please help me with some transition/ PIP Picture-In-Picture Transition/Effects?

I have been to PapaJohn's site and I know how to make a PIP video, but I am trying to figure out a way to make the video have movement.

For instance I'd like to begin with a background standard video of me talking, then have a video pop up somewhere near the center and move to the upper left hand corner, as I am (in the background video) talking about the video up over my (right) shoulder... the video shows up in the upper left hand creen.

I'd also then like to be able to make the video in the upper left hand corner zoom to full screen replacing the background picture... zooming from the upper left to full screen by extending the bottom right corner.

I'm not sure if it's possible, but I hope so. If you can help please send me a message to JamesonTheDog@gmail.com

I'd also like to be able to take a full screen image, and shrink it back to the upper left hand position, as if the image plays and then it shrinks so a background video can give commentary to it (the reverse of my second request)

Or to combine both and have an image go from full screen to upper left and back to full screen.

I know how to use this transition to place a PIP, so maybe an add to this code?

<TransitionsAndEffects
Version="1.0" >
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{BB44391D-6ABD-422f-9E2E-385C9DFF51FC}">
<Transition name="PIP-640x480-Normal Screen 4X3 zoom" iconid="88">
<Param name="SrcOffsetX" value="0" />
<Param name="SrcOffsetY" value="0" />
<Param name="SrcWidth" value="640" />
<Param name="SrcHeight" value="480" />
<Param name="OffsetX" value="16" />
<Param name="OffsetY" value="263" />
<Param name="Width" value="306" />
<Param name="Height" value="204" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>

Try this code:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{4EF98DF5-794F-4fd3-8E77-559F82C8D10C}">
<Transition name="PIP+ Scrappey 1" iconid="0">
<Param name="RectA" value=" 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1.0;" />
<Param name="RectB" value=" 0.0, 0.49, 0.49, 0.02, 0.02, 0.0, 0.0;
0.2, 0.49, 0.49, 0.02, 0.02, 0.0, 0.0;
0.5, 0.35, 0.35, 0.30, 0.30, 1.0, 1.0;
0.7, 0.35, 0.35, 0.30, 0.30, 1.0, 1.0;
0.9, 0.65, 0.05, 0.30, 0.30, 1.0, 1.0;
1.0, 0.65, 0.05, 0.30, 0.30, 1.0, 1.0;" />
</Transition>
<Transition name="PIP+ Scrappey 2" iconid="0">
<Param name="RectA" value=" 0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1.0;" />
<Param name="RectB" value=" 0.0, 0.65, 0.05, 0.30, 0.30, 1.0, 1.0;
1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0;" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Copy paste to Notepad and save as ppscrappey.xml in folder: 'C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX'. Restart WMM.

thanks Rehan. I have another question for you.

Can I paste that into a single XML file? 'cause every time I tried doing that with the PIP+ User XMLs I found on this site tey wouldn't work. But If I just put one code into each XML file I found that I could get them to work (sometimes after more tweaking)

Is the code ok to just highlight and copy and paste into a text document like it is, or do I need to make 2 XMLs or.. what?

If you could help me out I'd totally appreciate it.

Every XML should start with <TransitionsAndEffects> and end with </TransitionsAndEffects>. The code Rehan gave you fits in a single xml file since it is complete with the beginning and ending tags.

Sweet! I got it to work. I'm not sure why this one works in a single file where as the others didn't, but that's cool...

Only prolem is that it flys to the upper right, instead of left... but I think I could fix that by chnaging some of the code...?

I'm also having problems with the PIP+ Split Verticle shuffle XML... when I preview the transition it doesn't do anything, but change the picture at the last slide... like I don't see any actual transition, it just displays an image then displays another image... both full screen.

I'm having the same problem with my PIP+ Zap.

Does anyone have the code that I can highlight and paste to make them work?

Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate it so much. I had thought this site was dead when I first came upon it 'cause I figured this was all old news, but I'm so glad someone's here to help!!

You do need a registered copy of PIP+ for motion transitions and effects.

And yes Blaine I did post in that duplicate post.

I'll re-phrase that:

Have you paid to use PIP+?

I have not paid because I do not have a paypal account... so no way to pay.

So no, I have not paid... but every other code I try seems to work. It's just the few I listed that aren't working. So unless those are the only ones called "motion effects/transition" I don't know....

Anything with dynamic resizing of windows (e.g. more than one RectA or RectB parameter has motion and requires the registered version. If you want to register, go to Rehan's site and send an e-mail to him. Maybe he can work out another payment method.

Hello Rehan I was just wondering can anyone use the PIp transition that you posted or is it just for scappey. The reason I'm asking is because scappey name is in the transitions.

Although the names have Screappey in them it should work for anybody who has installed PipPlus. You can change the name after copying/pasting into notepad and before saving.
