C64-like colors

Is there a possibility to make a filter that works similar to "Posterize" but displays only 16 colors, namely the colors of the Commodore-64?

No is the simple answer. Unfortunatly the Posterize effect has no changable parameters.

Actually, now that i've bothered to look at the MSDN site there are changable params but it wouldn't give you the effect your looking for.

Hold on! I tried it with only 16 colours and here's the result - Not sure if it's what you want but let me know:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0" >
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{B4DC8DD9-2CC1-4081-9B2B-20D7030234EF}">
<Effect name="Posterize - 16 Colours" iconid="20">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Standard" />
<Param name="Posterize" value="16" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Thanks, this gives an interesting result already.

However, is it possible to create an effect that reduces the moving picture to 16 colors only? The Posterize filter was just sort of an example because it works with, I guess, 64 colors. Any filter that reduces the colors to 16 would do fine, and I would be really in bliss if those 16 colors could be explicitly defined. Basically I am searching for a way to emulate the 16 colors of a Commodore 64 in a moving picture.

[Five minutes later:]
When I use <Param name="Posterize" value="4" /> it *almost* gives me my desired result. Yay! Thanks again, Mimo.

I think that's the closest you can get un less you added a colour tint? Could you give example of this Commodore 64?
