Problem slowing down heartbeat

I want to add a heart beat effect from the PIP+. But when I use it on shorter clips, the beats are faster. I have short clips and want to make the heart "beats" slower. I tried altering the time on the code, but the newly named file won't even show.

I hope it's ok to post someone's original code here...let me know if not so i can edit it out:

I tried to just get the first and last time durations, but failed at that (I'm new at xml). Could someone please give me a code to make it slower? At least for faster, I could always cut a long clip multiple times. But can't do so for slowing.

On another note, is there a code for PASTING several cut clips together?

You need to be careful when copying pasting the xml code. The above one for example is missing the final ">". Is that the reason for your xml failure? Also make sure to use a text editor such as Notepad and confirm the file has .xml extension by turning off the "hide extensions of known file types" from Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder options > View.

Copy paste the xml code into notepad and Save As pipplus_viddersweet.xml in folder C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX. Confirm the file has .xml extension by turning off the "hide extensions of known file types" from Explorer > Tools > Folder options > View. Restart WMM.

Thank you! No, I had the >, it just didn't get pasted on my post.
It seems that the code slowed the actual beat, but how can I change it so that the time between any two beats is longer (that is, instead of say 2 seconds between beats, it'll be like 6 seconds between beats? Thanks.

The timing between beats is relative to the length of the clip. In your first example, there were 5 beats. So if it was a 30 second clip, you'd have a beat every 6 seconds. But if you put it on a 5 second clip, they would be every second.

Rehan created a modified version which had two beats, so on the 30 second clip it would be every 15 seconds. On the 5 second clip it would be ever 2.5 or so.

Because of the way PIP+ and effects work, you can't make the timing be absolute; it must be relative to the full length of the clip. At this point you could reduce the effect to 1 beat in your clip, but that's about it. Another choice would be to splice together more of your movie, save it as a movie, then reimport. Apply it to a longer clip and the beats will be slower.

Ah, thanks. Ok, i can try that and then reimport it into the video project.
