One of Pixelan's packages have 6 of them, and then there's the do-it-yourself XML approach. But not in the basic package.

... my website isn't here... it's at www.papajohn.org

In principle and according to the official documentation you should be able to make a custom effect for adjusting contrast using xml code such as below. But unfortunately something is wrong in the internal "Standard" effect which means the positive contrast doesnt work while the negative values (less than 1.0) work OK.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{B4DC8DD9-2CC1-4081-9B2B-20D7030234EF}">
<Effect name="Contrast -15%" iconid="0">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Standard" />
<Param name="Contrast" value="0.85" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Contrast +15%" iconid="0">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Standard" />
<Param name="contrast" value="1.15" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Short instructions: Open notepad. Copy paste the above colored code into it and save as constrast.xml in folder: C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX. Make the folder if not there.

I will be researching if one can achieve this via some other manner... *-)
