slide up transition effect
Posted: 21 May 2004 05:12 PM
Hi,

I'm new to MovieMaker and I'm wondering if it is possible to create the effect that picture A is moved down by picture B. (or up). This should then create the effect that one high image is moved over the screen.

Thanks,
Tom.

I meant:

this should then create the effect that one image (with the height of twice the height of a screen) is moved from top to bottom. Image A comes from the top of the monitor, while Image B gets hidden behind the bottom of the screen.

The built in trainsitions in WMM do not animate the ImageB. One can revolve camera which might show Image B but in 3D world ImageB remains in place...

Furthermore, the Simple3D class only allows controlling either both horizontal and vertcal scales or just the horizontal scale.... Thus you can shrink in horizontal direction but not in vertical direction...

To achieve what you want, you need to modify the sample code for custom effects and transitions. With built in transitions the best you can achive is ImageA shrinking left or right revealing the static image B behind it...

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{C63344D8-70D3-4032-9B32-7A3CAD5091A5}">
<Transition name="Shrink left" iconid="71" comment="Shrink vertical">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="smaller" />
<Param name="ZScaleAStart" value="1.0" />
<Param name="MoveA" value="left" />
<Param name="MoveSpeedA" value="0.6666" />
</Transition>
<Transition name="Shrink right" iconid="71" comment="Shrink vertical">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="smaller" />
<Param name="ZScaleAStart" value="1.0" />
<Param name="MoveA" value="right" />
<Param name="MoveSpeedA" value="0.6666" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Too bad that the default transitions of WMM cannot animate imageB. Are there transition libraries of WMM which do allow this kind of functionality?

Thanks for your example script.
