enlarge the clip (opposite from trimming)

One can trim the ends off your video clips in the Timeline. This is as easy as dragging the beginning or the end cutting edge of the clip inside.

Often there is need to do a reverse action i.e. enlarge the clip. Why this is not possible in MM2?

As far as I understand each "pre-cutted" clip is just an object that has pointers to the start and end points inside the original movie file?

Personally I miss this feature very much.

Thank you
-Daniel

provided they are from the same source file and contiguous (i.e. the second directly follows the first) you can combine two or more clips in a collection into one big one as follows:

1) highlight the clips you want to combine

2) right click one of the selected clips

3) select combine from the menu

4) use new clip as normal

hi Nick

thank you for your advice . I am aware of this technique, but it look too complicated for every clip that I want to enlarge for several milliseconds to look for it's adjacent one.

By the way one can enlarge the title/credits clip.

as a rule after i have imported file i copy all the clips into a new collection and recombine them into a clip that contains the whole file that way i can create my own custom clips as well as using the ones created by MM.

You can normally increase the lenght of credits/titles by dragging them on the timeline.

You can double the length of the clip by applying the "Slow Down, Half" effect. If you want more options you can creatre your own effects like "Slow Down, 3/4" or "Slow Down, 1/10" which will increase the clip length by 4/3 = 1.33333 times and 10 times respectively.

<EffectDLL guid="{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}">
<Effect name="Slow Down, 3/4" iconid="32" speed="0.75"></Effect>
<Effect name="Slow Down, 1/10" iconid="32" speed="0.1"></Effect>
</EffectDLL>

Hope this helps.
