Fun Art Effects!
Posted: 22 Oct 2005 05:55 PM
I was playing around with the existing art effects that movie maker has and just thought I'd post most of them for reference or for those who don't have them. Counldn't figure out the icons so left them the same. You can see this video to watch some of the effects in action. Have fun and feel free to play around with the control values!

It would love to know which effect was which on your video. Any chance you could add labels for each effect?

Thanks PPG - It's enormously useful seeing all the effects scraped together in one demo.

Very cool, Nice work. Thanks. BTW, I found it useful to add "Art," to each effect name e.g Effect name = "Art, Accents" "Art, Angled strokes"...etc.. so that they are all grouped together in the video effects menu.

Re: Fun Art Effects!

jackie a lot of Info is left out, and makes some of us guess.

some members can answer the most challanging questions ever, but when it comes down to the most explained one they ar stumpped.
I just had to say that. but if you
look at he video Link which is totally removed from" Putfile due to TOS rules" they are the best ;)

1, when you copy the XML code make a file on your desktop in text and save it as a name

2. find the line <Effect name="Accents" iconid="1"> and rename the " Accents" to
<Effect name="anything your heart desires" iconid="1">

3 when you are finished you can copy the first effect and paiste in a new text folder and repeat steps 1-4 to all titles got n name but I recommend keeping the title in an orderly manner name 1 name 2 name 3 etc. and save

4. now when you save the text folder you may need to go to
my comp/programs/moviemaker/shared/addons
In Addons will be XML codes saved. type in the same name you named the text folder and add .xml to it so it looks like
"Anythingyourheartdesires.xml" when you open the folder " Addon from the my comp/programs/moviemaker/shared/addons you will see your new XML's
If you do not have an Addon you must make the folder.

5. Now you need to go to Win MovieMaker and open up
Place a vid , or Pic in the timeline for the h*ll of it, if not leave blank. Locate step 2 Edit movie if it is called that, and find tranitions.
now start from the top and work your way to you see. anything your heart desies name.
And that's it

I recommend a total newbie First look at your folder , write or print a copy of all the Xml.s DLL from the shared, and addon's if you load up the persons Xml and
A. you hate their work it is easily found to remove , or if your WMM crashs due to a missing character or extention made.
otherwise learn the Hard way and post
" why my Wmm crashs "

I do not know what these effects look like yet due to lack of Info in detail, and the Vid. All understandable

Yes I like these too and I use them more than anything else however, I noticed some of the effect id parameters no one had done...

What specifically are you looking for WMM to do? Microsoft chose to make WMM easy to use for most users leaving off several features that I think would really be helpful (such as multiple video tracks, multiple audio tracks, 3-D titles and transitions, etc.). If you have similar 'feature requests', feel free to post them in the 'feature request' forum (view forum 26).

If you just want more transitions, titles and effects, look around these threads to see what people have created.

Did, you make these. And if you did. . . How, I want to learn so I can make effects instead of begging for some1 to make 1. I am currently looking for 3d ripple for XP where it makes the video move all liquidy. But I need it as an effect. I want to learn how to make better effects so I can make it. I only have the transition
