Hitthebongo,
I don't know if your page only tries to provide the overlays,
or also tries to provide techniques...but this is simple enough,
just a wipe up and a wipe down.
sniper
Since your site seems to be the place to go for sniper overlays.

Very cool technique Dave and nice overlay too.
Thanks. Your techniques rock - I've updated my blog post to reference this thread of yours. Would it be possible to list the xml ?
Cheers

I was thinking that was standard stuff. It's just a narrow wipe up and
a narrow wipe down. Let me look around and see who originated it.

Rehan probably originated this, or at least the reverse version.
<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{AF279B30-86EB-11D1-81BF-0000F87557DB}" >
<Transition iconid="56" name="Wipe, Narrow Down">
<Param name="GradientSize" value="0.2" />
<Param name="wipeStyle" value="1" />
</Transition>
<Transition iconid="56" name="Wipe, Narrow Up">
<Param name="GradientSize" value="0.2" />
<Param name="wipeStyle" value="1" />
<Param name="motion" value="reverse" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>
And of course you need a zoomed in version of your original
clip, and there are a number of ways to do that...
PIP, PIP+ and maybe Danfah's zoom effects(never tried them)
And it would look better using a high quality image. But the best
way of course would be to have an actually close up photo.

Thats even better than I first thought I thought it was a simulated shutter opening and closing - The zoom effect didn't register.
Have you ever considered uploading your vids to youtube.com or simmilar? I know that there is a sacrifice in quality, but it does ensure that the vid can still be viewed several months down the road by anyone doing some xml/effects digging.

| ..If you do experiment with youtube and want to keep your videos as a seperate entity to the youtube community , just choose the "private" option when uploading. The direct link that youtube supply will still be a good link if posted to this forum. |
