Interesting. Might be very nice for the right situation.
But I think you want to call it "searchlight"

anythingyoulike.xml as long as it is in the C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX folder.

The spotlight transitions are working for me too.

Note: you can specify the BorderColor RGB as hexadecimal instead (e.g. "0xFFFF00") which might make it more apparent that you are using bright yellow as the "searchlight" color and make it easier for others to modify, should they want to pick a different color.

Off the top of my head I know that 0xFF0000 is red, 0x00FF00 is green, 0x0000FF is blue, 0x00FFFF is cyan, 0xFF00FF is magenta, 0xFFFF00 is yellow and 0xFFFFFF is white but I would have no clue of the decimal equivalents without a calculator. Smiley

Also, you might want to name them something like "Searchlight (bottom)" and "Searchlight (left)" to make it easier to choose among them, rather than just calling them 1 and 2.

How about this?

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{DE75D012-7A65-11D2-8CEA-00A0C9441E20}">
<Transition name="Searchlight bottom" iconid="15" comment="By Daniel">
<Param name="MaskNum" value="223" />
<Param name="BorderWidth" value="9" />
<Param name="BorderSoftness" value="33" />
<Param name="BorderColor" value="0xFFFF00"/>
</Transition>
<Transition name="Searchlight left" iconid="15" comment="By Daniel">
<Param name="MaskNum" value="224" />
<Param name="BorderWidth" value="9" />
<Param name="BorderSoftness" value="33" />
<Param name="BorderColor" value="0xFFFF00"/>
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Then you don't have to look up the decimal equivalents.
