Is This possible

well do you know the transition called "Split Horizontal" and "Split Vertical".
well this transition opens in the middle and shows the other image while it opens.
I was wondering if there is a way to make it close instead of opening.

I don't think this can be done in a single transition.
The gradient wipes can be reversed, but not the
SMPTE wipes(not that I know at least)
If this were "Name that Transition", I would say
'I can do that transition in 3 passes', but that's a
lot of work for one transition.

Custom SMTPE wipes can be made using gradient images of your own. Just create a gradient grayscle image that has gradient from black to white in the desired direction and specify it as the value for the parameter MaskName.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{DE75D012-7A65-11D2-8CEA-00A0C9441E20}">
<Transition name="Wipe: Vortex" iconid="0">
<Param name="MaskName" value="C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\right2left.jpg" />
<Param name="BorderSoftness" value="50.0" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Copy paste the xml code into notepad and Save As smpte_rtol.xml in folder C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX. Create the AddOnTFX folder if necessary. Confirm the file has .xml extension by turning off the "hide extensions of known file types" from Explorer > Tools > Folder options > View. Also click on the image name in above xml code and from there save the image file as right2left.jpg in the same AddOnTFX folder. Restart WMM.

Using Rehan's model, here's the exact transitions you wanted:

First download these two files:
maskverticalreverse.png
maskhorizontalreverse.png

Place them in your C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX folder.

Next, copy the following code and save it as splitwipes.xml in the same directory.
<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{DE75D012-7A65-11D2-8CEA-00A0C9441E20}">
<Transition name="Split, Vertical (in)" iconid="50">
<Param name="MaskName" value="C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\maskverticalreverse.png" />
</Transition>
<Transition name="Split, Horizontal (in)" iconid="22">
<Param name="MaskName" value="C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\maskhorizontalreverse.png" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Restart WMM and you'll have two new transitions called "Split, Vertical (in)" and "Split, Horizontal (in)".

The png files which Blaine provided should meet in the middle - perhaps you didn't save them to the correct path and you've just got the default left-to-right wipe?

The first set of cool gradients also had a barn door -

You can reverse the direction of the transition by inverting the images.

Make sure the files have the names shown above (e.g. maskhorizontalreverse.png) in the location noted in the xml (e.g. C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX) and that you don't have any breaks in the path in your xml file. Also, make sure they are .png files, not some other extension.

I've tested again, and they do work, but if it can't find the filename, it will use the default left to right transition.
