"Lost" opening effect
Posted: 22 Sep 2005 03:41 AM
Hi. Sorry to bother everyone but I needed some help. I wanted to know if anyone knew how to create an effect like the title sequence on the tv show Lost in the opening. I tried looking but couldn't find anything on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Okay basically the title starts far away and then starts turning right slowly as it zooms in until the title passes "through the screen". I'm sorry that's the best description I could do. Thanks for responding.

Hi thanks again for replying. You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but I am very new to this. What did your last message mean? I'm a newbie and that scared me :)

Copy the code and past it into note pad.
save it into C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX as lost.xml
if AddOnTFX dont exsist, create it.

Okay I put the code in notepad and saved it as lost.xml in the AddOnTFX folder. But I can't find it in the transitions or effects when I want to use it. Do I need to do anything else after I save the document in the folder? Thanks for your help.

First, make sure you have restarted WMM.

Second, the "effect" provided is actually a title, so you want to go to Tools > Titles and Credits. After you type in the text you want for the title, change the title animation to "Lost" (it should be at the end of the list of 'one line' titles).

Hey! Sorry but I think this user meantr that type of effect although it doesnt pause and it is also kind of tilted to the right rather than coming dead on center and moving off to the center. It kind of swooshes in from the left and zooms out as it comes right so you feel you are passing the letters! I hope I explained that ok!
