Project endlessly loops

I want my slideshow to end at the end, but it automatically starts over again. How do I get it to stop, besides hitting "pause" or "stop", where it should? Thanks for your help. :D

This isn't a feature of Movie Maker... it's a feature of the player. If you are using Windows Media Player, you must have the "loop" setting enabled. Use Ctrl+T to toggle between looping and not looping.

Actually, I'm playing it through the preview feature of Movie Maker. That's how I did a presentation in church the other week and had to hit pause right at the end so it wouldn't loop. The projects I'm working on now want to continuously loop as well. Do I need to make these into movies played through Media Player, or is there a way to just use the previewer so that they won't loop?

You should really save it as a movie using the first blue menu (File / Alt+F) then choosing 'Save Movie'. Save it to your computer.

But I'm also not sure why you are seeing the playback looping. I'll have to try that again, but I thought it stopped when you got to the end.

Did they remove the ability to burn the movie into a DVD?

If you are on Windows Vista or Windows 7 with Windows DVD Maker installed, then the 'Burn to DVD' option is under 'Save Movie'.

If you are on Windows 8 (or otherwise on a basic version of Windows) there is no Windows DVD Maker and hence no direct option for 'Burn to DVD'.

I'm not sure if the option to burn to a shiny disc will eventually return in Windows 8, but if you need that option, you'll have to look into other programs. A couple freeware options are DVD Shrink and DVD Styler. I'm not sure if they have been tested under Windows 8, however.
