converting MOD.MOV file type
Posted: 24 Sep 2012 09:11 AM
My Panasonic camcorder records in MOD.MOV. I want to convert files for WMM v 2.1.4028.0

I have an AkmeFFmpeg file converter. It has 15 choices of file types, and 15 choices of codecs.

Which file type should I choose, and which codec should I choose. (Codec has "default" as one of its 15 choices).

Thanks.

Thanks to all for your help.

My recommendation would be .wmv video. I'm not sure that is one of your choices. If not, Freemake Video Converter will convert .mod to .wmv.

If you want to continue with AkmeFFmpeg, try the simplest codec in the list. Don't pick MPEG2, H.264, DivX, etc. since those often cause problems in Movie Maker. Basically, just try some experimentation to see which will import. Also, be sure to make a couple edits and see if you can save it as a movie (File > Save Movie). That's where most codec issues arise.

You might also check PapaJohn's pages on the .mod type.

Try Brorsoft video converter and convert your source videos to WMV for editing in Windows Movie Maker.
