- Second and third audio tracks (simultaneous audio tracks) -> Could me distinguished using different colors.
- Per-Section audio tracks volume leveling (with easy snapping to images/video starts and ends) Explanation: Many times I start with 3second pictures with cross-fade in-between and zoom-in animation with some music as a curtain and I put a video in between the pictures with some person talking about something funny. I'd love to be able to lower the volume of the audio track while that video of the person talking keeps running and then re-establish (with fade-in) it to the original volume, all without having to insert the audio track 3 times and play with start end times.
- Native support for .mov movies and all kinds of movies, with native GPU rendering so that previews flow smoothly.
- More and better effects templates for things like titles.

Oh, and I forgot, there should be a feature that allows "stitch points". Meaning that sometimes when I modify and audio track at the beginning a movie, then I have to fix all the after-coming audio tracks because they are all relative to previous audio tracks and not to video points.
My idea is to add stitch points where you can say: "here, say at minute 1 second 22, I want to make this a stitch point so that whatever happens to audio tracks before this point doesn't affect this point itself". It would be like clipping audio and video and make them unmovable if not together.

Most of what you are asking for is beyond the scope of what Microsoft sees Windows Live Movie Maker as. They are developing it as a program that is easy and quick to make videos to post somewhere like YouTube. They see it very much as a entry level editor. For people who want features like the ones you are requesting, they figure you will move onto one of the commercial intermediate level video editing programs like Premiere Elements, Sony Vegas, or Cyberlink PowerDirector to mention a few.

As a workaround to the editing of audio and having it mess up the later audio, you can select the first affected audio clip, then hold down 'Shift' and select the last clip. Then you can align them all at once to the desired point. The original spacing between clips is remembered so you don't have to realign them one by one.

But I wholeheartedly agree that these would be desirable features. I also agree with splante, that it is unlikely they will be added in Movie Maker; they haven't done it so far after 10+ years.
