Are you on the 32-bit or 64-bit version of ShaderTFX? Did you get the transitions/effects loaded and working in the 15 day trial period? In other words, do you see new icons for transitions and effects that come with ShaderTFX inside of Windows Movie Maker 6.0?

If you don't, then you haven't installed it correctly? First ensure that you have the version of WMM and ShaderTFX that match your version of Windows. So if you have a 32-bit OS, use the 32-bit versions. If you have a 64-bit OS, use the 64-bit versions.

Also, you should install the DirectX runtimes as noted on Rehan's pages and also update your graphics drivers. Okay, assuming you've done all that you should now have some transitions/effects that work correctly.

To register, I believe you just hold down Ctrl and Shift and click on one of the icons for an effect or transition that uses ShaderTFX. Then you'll see the registration dialog. Be sure to copy your full username and e-mail address (not just part) and all of the registration code.

So what happens when you hold down Ctrl and Shift and click on one of Rehan's Effects or Transitions?

A couple other things to try:
1) Reboot, restart WMM and hold Ctrl+Shift, click on one of the icons for Rehan's effects. Do this first thing. If it doesn't work, try restarting WMM again.
2) Wait a day until you get the 'nag' screen and go from there.

One other tip:
Right-click on Movie Maker and choose 'Run as Administrator'. Now try the steps.

Thanks for your help. I had to uninstall MM 6 and shaderTHX and reinstall them then the drop down dialog box worked appeared so I can put the registration code in.
