since I bough my new camera, all the movie files r recorded as mpeg4 files and my windows movie player can't play or import them.
Please help me what do I need to do? I tried to download a "AVS" wideo rimaker but have no clue what to do?

Welcome to the forums.

Try using SUPER (it's a free download) to convert your files to avi format using ffmpeg and MS-mpeg4-v2 as the Video Output Codec. See this page for download instructions (as erightsoft doesn't provide a direct download link for it). See my post in this thread for a set of instructions for using SUPER.

Windows Movie Maker still troubles users for its defect on video support, which is limited to AVI, MPEG and WMV files. That means you will fail to import and edit MPEG4 files in Windows Movie Maker. In order to make MPEG4 video clips compatible with WMM, you'll need to convert MPEG4 to Windows Movie Maker natively supported formats like WMV or AVI in advance.

I agree with you, convert the mpeg files into format supported by WMM by some video conversion tool is good choice here.
