Captions; Unable to set a background color
Posted: 22 Sep 2010 12:13 AM
I have version 2011 beta 15.4.3002.0801 using Windows Home 7 with 64 bit on a new Toshiba laptop.

I cannot add a background color to any captions. I can change background on titles and credits.

The caption background button is grayed out.

Any ideas out there?

I should add I had the same problem in the latest public version (which I don't know the version of because now it's overwritten by the beta version I have). So that is why I am using the beta version.

I had the same problem. Movie Maker doesn't allow you to add an opaque background to your captions, so they are hard to read against a photo, no matter what text color you choose.

What worked for me: I created a slide with a caption in Power Point (much more flexible -- allows opaque background, multiple lines of text, etc.) then saved the image as a JPEG. Then I inserted that JPEG into Movie Maker.
