Error: 0x87160129. Can't read (.MOV) files.

When i try to add any of my Flip camera video files [QuickTime Movie (.MOV)] to Windows Live Movie Maker using Windows 7 (It was "Best Buy" upgrade from Vista Home Premium), I get this error message and a red x on the file: Windows Movie Maker Error: 0x87160129.

I found a few answers, but they say - Buy a codec [DVD Decoder (MPEG-2 Decoder) Plug-ins] for Vista... but I don't think I have to pay for somebody's mistake... right?
Perhaps somebody know how to fix this?

Thank You.

Welcome to the forums.

If you haven't done so, try installing Quicktime on your system and see if that makes a difference.
