Problem after updating to Windows 7 Posted: 18 Nov 2009 09:14 PM |
For a while I was using Movie Maker on Vista Ultimate Edition and it was working perfectly. After upgrading to Windows 7, I had to download an older version of Movie Maker (2.6 I believe) just to get a version that somewhat resembled the Vista version.
Now my videos are taking over an hour to publish where before they were taking 10 minutes. They are the same exact videos (video game recorded using FRAPS). Nothing changed other than the Movie Maker version.
Also, importing the videos takes about 5 times as long and the program is breaking each video up into about 10-15 seperate clips. This is highly annoying and I can't get it to operate the way it was before.
Any suggestions? |

Welcome to the forums.
Version 2.6 is essentially the XP version of Movie Maker repackaged to run under Vista. The Vista version uses your graphics card to render the movie whereas the XP version doesn't - that might explain the difference in processing time you noted.
You can run version 6.0 under Windows 7 - see this thread for more info on how to do that. |

| Thanks Neo, that is exactly what I needed. It is working just like it did in Vista. |
