Quality of imported videos Posted: 04 Nov 2009 11:48 AM |
We are trying to make a video of sculpture to send to clients. I use the DV/AVI option to make the captures (I have the correct capture hardware - I checked) and to save, but the quality is no where near as good as when I play the footage straight to the television. I need to edit the footage (add music etc.) Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks very much. |

Welcome to the forums.
Are you judging the quality based on the video you see in the Movie Maker preview pane? If you are, then the quality of that video will generally be lower than that of the movie you save/publish. If you haven't done so, try saving/publishing your movie and see how the quality of it looks (make sure you view it at nearly the same resolution at which the video was rendered; generally this means you want to view it at less than full screen on your computer). |

Hi Neophyte
I saved it to a DVD. |

Try saving the movie to your hard drive and see how the quality of that movie looks (save it as a DV-AVI file for best quality). If it looks OK then that would indicate the problem was in the burning process. If that's the case, post back with the details on the program and settings you used for burning the DVD.
