will not save, estimated time clock just keeps ticking... Posted: 07 Aug 2009 10:07 PM |
Hi there. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
When I try to save the actual movie file to my computer, no matter what settings I choose, it just sits at 0% and the "estimated time" window keeps going. Right now it says "2500 minutes remaining" and it's still climbing!
I am sure that I have enough space on the hard drive.
Anyone have any ideas for me? |

i forgot to mention:
A bunch of ffdshow icons pop up in my windows task bar as soon as I try to save. I don't know if this has anything to do with it. |

I also have that issue..
the only thing i notice is..
ffdshow audio decoder x2 in the task tray - which is normal
cpu is not being used... usually it's 100% and i leave it alone...
although the input files i usually use was wmv, this one video was avi [xvid/mp3]
time just keeps ticking up.. gave up after "200000 minutes remaining"... |

| I too have this issue, but it says 21675563 minutes remaining and is trying to write it to a CD when I'm just trying to save to my computer. Also will not save when I want it to due to insufficient memory, when I have more than enough available. |

NFLranking - welcome to the forums.
First, clean out your Collections area so that it contains just the items you need for your current project (this usually resolves the writing to CD problem you noted).
The two most common causes of the increasing estimate for the amount of time to save/publish a movie are the use of an incompatible file type or too complex a project.
What's the file format of your source files? If they're an incompatible type such as MPEG-4, DivX, Xvid, MOV, FLV, etc, try using SUPER (it's a free download) to convert your files to avi format using ffmpeg and MS-mpeg4-v2 as the Video Output Codec. See this page for download instructions (as erightsoft doesn't provide a direct download link for it) and see the "Use a Given Converter" item on desilucy's "How Do I"? page for step-by-step instructions on using SUPER.
How many video clips, audio clips, images, titles, effects and transitions do you have in your project? If you have a large number, try breaking the project up into pieces and see if you can save the pieces. |
