Hearts & Circles
Posted: 04 Jul 2005 07:17 PM
Hi,

I'm new but I've been searching this forum for a few weeks and have learnt how to edit the xml files and managed to make some new ones. I don't really understand the whole concept, basically I've just copied peoples code and followed the instructions.

So I don't have to keep bothering you kind folks, I'd like to know where exactly you find the original xml files so that I can alter them? I need to slow down the 'heart' transition and reverse the 'circle' one.

I tried searching the forum but couldn't find anything so sorry if this question has already been asked.

Welcome to the forum jamajam

Microsoft's documentation on custom effects and transitions is at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnwmt/html/moviemakersfx.asp

It's actually referenced in these forums in a pinned post but in a different area "Share Your Transitions and Effects!!". I guess it should have been put in this area.

Rehan has extended this for custom titles

I did a couple of circle-in transtions a while back see

To "slow down" a transition you can just drag one clip over the other so they overlap for a longer period.

I used these heart transitions for a video with my kids.
You might find these useful or give you some ideas for your own.
