Amend Dates

Anyone know of good, user-friendly freeware (software) to amend the exif data on JPG photos, which they could recommend?
Date and time entry would be preferable to time shift
(i.e. DATE = 05/05/2009 10:23 ; rather than -3days:+2months:+5years:-1hr:+20mins)
I have tried Exifer, which is good, but for some reason does not save "Date Modified" correctly. I would like to amend Date Modified/ Date Picture Taken etc. for individual photos, which had the camera date set incorrectly.

| Microsoft Pro Photo Tools will do what you want; it's free on the Microsoft site. |
