PipPlus 2.0 Beta AGAIN

Hi all
After two years of hybernation mode... the public beta trial for PipPlus 2.0 (aka PIP++) is being made available again on popular demand...
PIPPLUS 2.0 BETA 2 for Movie Maker 2.x
What is it:
PipPlus supports arbitrary sizing, placement and composition of the video frames with various parameters that allow sophisticated manipulation and control. In addition to static placement it also allows defining key frame animations made up of arbitrary number of sets of parameters as they change over time (key frames).
Version 2 further enhances the feature set by allowing manipulation of video frames as 3D scene rectangles that can be moved and rotated around in the 3D coordinates with perspective camera views. Advanced masking and keying capabilities combined with sophisticated composition operations open up new opportunities for creative custom effects and transitions.
Features Summary:
• PIP – Picture and Picture type transitions and effects with complete flexibility in placement, size and orientation of the video frame rectangles.
• Borders – using a color and width or an image that gets drawn over the video clip
• Overlays – an image frame that can be placed anywhere alongside the video frames
• Animations – all placement parameters can be animated by defining time based keyframe values.
• Alpha Masks – allows defining opacity level or visible area of the video frame
• Chroma Keying – specify start and end color values to define the chroma key range.
• Animated Image Types – Support for animated GIF files. Also normal image files can be used as frames of an animation by naming them in a sequence
• Composition operations – support for different pixel blending/composition operations (such as NORMAL, ADD, MULTPLY, SCREEN, etc) for videos and overlays.
• 3D movement and rotation – PipPlus 2 scene consists of up to four elements (3D rectangles) that can be moved and rotated independent to each other in the 3D space.
• 3D Perspective camera views – the scene view can be controlled in 3D space coordinates by specifying the position and target of the camera (“LookAt” camera). Furthermore one can dynamically change the angle of view of the camera.
• Source Rectangle – to select sub region of image to be used for display.
• Image substitution / cloning – allows using copies of the same image for different scene elements.
• Image Effects – basic effects (greyscale, negative, blur, etc) can be applied to the images in the scene.
Target Audience
The main audience of this release are Custom Effects creators who would like to show off their creative talents by making custom effects and transitions. All users can experiment with the parameters and sharpen their xml skills. However they should wait for the final release to use it in serious projects.

Good call Rehan !
I know that myself and others have been gagging at the bit to get creative with the awesome new potential presented by this tool.
I've got a few sample vids up here that hint at a few uses, but this is just scratching the surface (DLK has got put some awesome examples together - If you're reading this Dave - post the link !)
The effects I've done need re-jigging with the current Beta. There is a possibility that further re-jigging will be needed with further Beta releases. An easy to install package will be made of my own creations once the final public release has been made. In the meantime however I will gladly share any code with others that are keen on coding their own pip2 effects on this forum on an info basis.
Hopefully enough of us can get behind the BETA to make this a sucess - Let the testing commence !

Way to go Rehan. It installed and works well on my Vista machine with MM2.6 and PIP+ installed. The installer even recognized that configuration and installed the TFX XML and DLL in the correct folder.
I use the MMStart utility view post 112752 to keep the MM collection data bases straight. Haven't been using 2.6 lately, but probably will now -- until Rehan adds these functions to ShaderTFX .
Al and Dave your samples are great. I see I have another learning curve. Any sample coding will be appreciated.

i got confused.. coz
when this oen is installed.. then my pipplus_static is not shown in movie maker.. it was workign before this.. |

| Hi Silla, I am sorry but this release is beta and not for general use so please only install it if you want to experiment and are ready to deal with any issues... mainly yourself. Having said that I will be collecting all feedback and fixing these issues in the coming days prior to proper release. |

ohh ok.. thanx.. but lol u know after addign the effect and had made the.. video and made a DVD family movie i saw the beta logo on it.. lol.. so funny now everytime i watch the movie i see the watermark
and laugh .. |

Hi Rehan,
PIP++ is amazing. I'm totally amazed! I've only seen a few sample vid's but they are ALL great! I want to ask you and Patrick L., to try to get it in ShaderTFX Vista soon or later ?
I really love the possibilities of this amazing plugin. Keep on trying!!

| Yes. Unfortunately I didnt have time to fixup the registration component. At this time you need either unexpired trial duration or license for PipPlus 1.0. I will be making another beta release later next week that can be tried without this restriction. |

Rain effect uses movement so unfortunately it expires.
You'll need registration after the trial. |

New version with defect fixes and some features update is uploaded. Please upgrade.
Version 2.0.2 (Beta 3 build 2186)
Summary of changes:
* FIX: Clone image A or B used for background showed first frame only
* FIX: Clone images did not work other than A or B
* NEW: OverlayB works in effect mode.
* Accompanied documentation updated.

Should downloading PipPLUS 2.0 Beta have any effect on PIP+ ?
I just downloaded the Beta version and cannot find any of my Pip + effects?

Rehan,
Did you change the Registration piece? I just installed the Beta to give it a whirl. Using PatrickL's MMStart program but as soon as I started version 2.6, it prompts immediately for Registration Code and is showing 0 days left for trial period. Did you update this piece as mentioned above? Wasn't sure. |
