2 Questions. Please Help.
Posted: 23 May 2005 07:07 PM
Okay I would like to know if these two effects are possible. Either through xml or maybe another program someone might know.

1. For the first effect I wanted something like a light beam to appear and hit the ground then basically flood the floor. As in the light would get bigger and bigger on the floor.

2. For the second effect I wanted basically a jerking effect. I have several jerking effects, but they are too fast. I'm new to XML or I would try to mess around with the speed, but I'm a noobie. So someone please tell me where and how to edit the speeds in the jerking effect.

Thanks!!

Try this. If is is too fast or slow, make the 100 of FilmJerkieness higher (faster) or lower (slower)
<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0" >
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{ADEADEB8-E54B-11d1-9A72-0000F875EADE}">
<Effect name="Shakiness value 50" iconid="4" comment="Shakiness">
<Param name="Age" value="0" />
<Param name="FilmJerkiness" value="50" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Shakiness value 100" iconid="4" comment="Shakiness">
<Param name="Age" value="0" />
<Param name="FilmJerkiness" value="100" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Shakiness value 150" iconid="4" comment="Shakiness">
<Param name="Age" value="0" />
<Param name="FilmJerkiness" value="150" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

For the beam effect. How about this: Sample video.

Uses:
1. this image Save the image with the filename and in folder as mentioned in the code below.
2. A white image or a blank title with white bg.
3. This wipe transition:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0" SpecialIconFileID="2013" SpecialIconResourceID="101">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="{DE75D012-7A65-11D2-8CEA-00A0C9441E20}" comment="DxtJpeg/SMPTE wipes">
<Transition name="JPG: beam" iconid="0">
<Param name="MaskName" value="C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\beam.jpg" />
<Param name="BorderSoftness" value="100" />
<Param name="BorderColor" value="0xFFFF88" />
<Param name="BorderWidth" value="40" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Copy paste into notepad and save as anyname with .xml extension in folder C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX. Create the AddOnTFX folder if not there. Restart WMM.
