Intensified Whites

Here's an effect I made that will intensify whites making them shine. Looks kinda "dreamy."

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{E673DCF2-C316-4c6f-AA96-4E4DC6DC291E}">
<Effect name="Bright White" iconid="28" comment="by Jake">
<Param name="EffectID" value="13" />
<Param name="Control1Value" value="1" />
<Param name="Control2Value" value="13" />
<Param name="Control3Value" value="20" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

i put these effects in my AddOnTFX folder, but when I apply either of them to a video, nothing happens. i saved them in the notebook program by adding .xml at the end of each and saved it to my AddonTFX folder in WMM.... anyone know what could be wrong?

Do other ones normally work for you? ALSO do you have an XP or a Vista?

Hmm... Thats' very strange. I'm no expert on this stuff maybe somebody else can help you out with this. You may just want to double check and make sure there is nothing but the code in the XML file - starting with <TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
and ending with </TransitionsAndEffects>

Are you able to select the effect? But it just doesn't do anything?

A few people have noted that with the art effects on which this effect is based... I'm not sure what you can do. As a test, you might want to download Ruzz's Art Effects Pack and see if any of them work.

The effect shows up in my WMM, but when I add it to the video, nothing happens.

That sounds odd. Does it at least effect the sample video with the picture of the clouds above the hills? If it works for that then I am assuming your video doesn't have any whites. Or your computer is having trouble rendering it for some reason. If that's the case you might want to try and apply the effect to the video and then "Save to the Computer" and see if the final product has the effect applied.

looking at the sample video without clicking it, the sample looks the same. but when i click it, the picture changes and it looks whiter. i tried applying this effect on many clips and none look any brighter white. ive tried light, regular, and dark clips. i havent tried saving a video yet with the applied effect. ill see if that changes anything.

Hey this looks really cool, just what I need! Would it be possible to create a transition that intensifies the whites in the first clip (like your effect does) gradually until the screen is completely white, and the do the reverse to the second clip? That would be beyond awesome.

the FX's works but I don't see any use to add
<Param name="Control4Value" value="30" />
Just 3 controls work just fine.
