Manipulation of PIP codes- who can help with the next level?
Posted: 22 Nov 2007 04:40 PM
After some manipulation of XML codes for PIP. I have been able to position my frames in the correct place and at the correct size (to give two side by side vids within a widescreen picture).

The next level would be being able to have the PIP frames moving...

IE

from position 1 at size 1
to position 2 at size 2
at speed x.

for instance going from full screen to half size positioned on left or right by gradually reducing in size. I've been unable to find codes to move any PIP on the forum and I know there are super UBER-talented peoples in here.

Is anyone able?
is anyone up for it?

I wish I was smarter.

I manipulated these from the "PIP in corners posts". Kudos to the
original author

Using both of these effects over 2 passes will give the effect of having 2
movies playing at the same time. They will appear with a thin line of the background
colour between them and give a widescreen effect.

* try one pass to put clip one into a black background and save as pip1.then
use the opposite side to put clip 2 into pip1.
Or you can put each clip into a black background (on different sides) and them use Comp A+B.
another nice feature is that you can add titles into the non PIP space
which gives you half the screen to title or describe the clip.

Put them in separate files, or you'll need to edit the XML so it all goes within one <TransitionsAndEffects> block.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">

<TransitionDLL guid="{C63344D8-70D3-4032-9B32-7A3CAD5091A5}">

<Param name="InitialScaleA" value="0.7" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="0.15" />
<Param name="MoveA" value="left" />
<Param name="FadeStartA" value="1.0" />
<Param name="Progress" value="0.35" />
</Transition>
<Transition name="Erics PIP,RIGHT" iconid="17">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="InitialScaleA" value="0.7" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="0.15" />
<Param name="MoveA" value="right" />
<Param name="FadeStartA" value="1.0" />
<Param name="Progress" value="0.35" />
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>

i think that you'd need to use Rehans PIP+ to be able to do what you're interested in - for a small fee - about £5 UK money, you get the PIP+ package that enables you to move pips around, including one that i've used - 'Satellite Communication' which moves in the way i think you're describing - there's two of these Sat Com PIP+, one for the right video, and one for the left...

there's a lot of other options too, well worth the investment in my opinion...

haven't been there for a while, but i think his sites called Rehan Fx. Org (?)
