Request: Fade in effect, with transparency
Posted: 07 Aug 2007 07:31 PM
Hello, I'd like to have an effect like the fade in from white... but with transparency so that it's not so bright. I looked here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms867186.aspx#fadeeffect, but it wasn't much help.

The best I can do is something like these:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{EC85D8F1-1C4E-46e4-A748-7AA04E7C0496}">
<Effect name="Fade In, From Gray" iconid="10">
<Param name="FadeIn" value="1" />
<Param name="FadeColor" value="0xA4A4A4" />
</Effect>
<Effect name="Fade Out, To Gray" iconid="12">
<Param name="FadeIn" value="0" />
<Param name="FadeColor" value="0xA4A4A4" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

These are based on the fade in/out effects in this thread: view post 77131

Thanks, it seems that you can't use
<Param name="Transparency" value="x" /> with this :(.

Nope, and in some effects you can specify colors as #AARRGGBB, where AA is an alpha value (00 = transparent, FF = fully opaque) but that's not how the color is specified here.
