I have nero 7.5.90 installed on vista. To fix the vista movie maker crash when rendering, I just renamed this folder

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter

Renamed DSFilter to something else. VMM no longer crashes and when I want to use Nero again, just rename DSFilter back to normal.

I'm curious to know if you can go to Tools > Options > Compatibility in Windows Movie Maker on Vista and *uncheck* the DirectShow Filter associated with Nero? If so, then you wouldn't have to constantly rename this folder.
