Spin & Ease in Effect
Posted: 29 Mar 2007 12:28 AM
Hello,
I'm putting together the beginning of a short video at the moment, but I'm not sure whether WMM2 can do what I'm wanting.
I want to start with a small image in the center of the screen, and have the image ease in from the background - sort of 'zooming in' i guess you'd call it.
While 'zooming in', I'm also wanting the image to simultaneously spin on a vertical axis - the 'spin' effect for images in MS Powerpoint.

Simultaneously;
-Zoom in
-Spin on vertical axis
Is this at all possible in WMM, is there an existing .xml template that I could play with to get the effect?

More information: The spin effect I want is similar to 'SPINFX Door Revolve' effect.
I can almost get it working... but the tiny image I've chosen (about 50x30 pixels) is stretched to the full width of the screen... I want it to display at na much smaller, normal size.

Movie Maker scales images up or down so they are displayed as full screen images. Two options you could try are:

1. Creating a new image (800x600 if you're working with a 4:3 aspect ratio) with your tiny image in the center of it and then import this image into MM and apply your effects to it.

2. Using a custom effect with your tiny image:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{B4DC8DD9-2CC1-4081-9B2B-20D7030234EF}">
<Effect name="Perspective" iconid="33" comment="Mod of dlk's Rotate Perspective">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="InitialScaleA" value="0.05" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="0.5" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

You may need to play around with the InitialScaleA annd Scale A parameters to get your image the size you want and to get the amount of "ease in" you want. Icreasing the value of InitialScaleA will make the beginning size of the image larger and increasing the value of ScaleA will make the final image size larger.

Here's a mod of the effect that adds spin to it.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="1.0">
<Effects>
<EffectDLL guid="{B4DC8DD9-2CC1-4081-9B2B-20D7030234EF}">
<Effect name="Effect for onenemesis" iconid="33" comment="Mod of dlk's Rotate Perspective and hitthebongo's SpinFX">
<Param name="InternalName" value="Simple3D" />
<Param name="RotateA" value="left" />
<Param name="InitialScaleA" value="0.05" />
<Param name="ScaleA" value="0.5" />
<Param name="RotateA" value="up" />
<Param name="ShowABack" value="true" />
<Param name="ExponentialProgressScale" value="0.5" />
</Effect>
</EffectDLL>
</Effects>
</TransitionsAndEffects>
