Flying titles in and up and left to right
Posted: 24 May 2011 02:13 PM
I am wondering if anyone has seen code OR could write something to have the titles like on the opening of this video. I know I can make a slide in Photoshop or something for the final title that comes in at .06 secs, but the flying titles in different directions... I don't even see how to do that in Pixelan.

Welcome To My Hood - Bosco Dance

I'm using Vista and WMM Version 6.0.

Thanks for your help and time!

I hope you are talking about the crossing titles because I just spent a lot of time trying to recreate those.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8">
<Titles>
<TitleDLL guid="TFX">
<Title name="Fly In, Cross, Fly Out" iconid="13" guid="Fly In, Cross, Fly Out" comment="movies.blainesville.com - post 242888">
<Param name="Animation" value="TitleMultiTitles"/>
<Param name="EntranceDuration" value="0.5"/>
<Param name="ExitDuration" value="1.0"/>
<Paragraph>
<Param name="BoundingRect" value="0.0 0.8 0.49 0.12"/>
<Param name="EntrancePosition" value="-0.5 0.5" evaluation="Linear"/>
<Param name="MainPosition" value="0.5 0.5"/>
<Param name="ExitPosition" value="1.8 0.5" evaluation="Linear"/>
<Param name="VerticalAlignment" value="Bottom"/>
<Param name="HorizontalAlignment" value="Right"/>
<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="32"/>
<Param name="IsBold" value="True"/>
</Paragraph>
<Paragraph>
<Param name="BoundingRect" value="0.5 0.8 0.49 0.12"/>
<Param name="EntrancePosition" value="1.5 0.5" evaluation="Linear"/>
<Param name="MainPosition" value="0.5 0.5"/>
<Param name="ExitPosition" value="-0.8 0.5" evaluation="Linear"/>
<Param name="VerticalAlignment" value="Bottom"/>
<Param name="HorizontalAlignment" value="Left"/>
<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="32"/>
<Param name="IsBold" value="False"/>
</Paragraph>
</Title>
</TitleDLL>
</Titles>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Copy/paste this into Notepad and save it as FlyInCrossOut.xml on your desktop. Then copy that file over to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX.

To use it, choose Tools > Titles & Credits. Choose to place a title on the selected clip. Then change the animation. At the bottom of the two line titles should be a new one called Fly In, Cross, Fly Out. Change the text and the font as normal then click 'Done'.

Dear considerate_guy,

Yes, I wanted the crossing titles and even the one that comes in before that if possible that has his name Bosco.

I hate to admit this but I am having a problem loading in your file. I have done these before (I have Ayumi and hitthebongo titles in there and others) and I just don't know what the issue is.

I saved the file in Notepad, even copying your title directly from your post, copied it over to my AddOnTFX and restarted WMM, yet it is not showing up in my list as a choice anywhere. I have done this process now three times to make certain I didn't mess it up. I checked to make certain it is in the right folder AddOnTFX and it is a .xml, and it is.

I know that you can't see my computer or what I'm doing... but as you are the expert here... any idea as to what I might be doing wrong?

thanks.

Are you sure it isn't there? Look through the complete list of two line title animations. The name is very similar to others, but you should see 'Fly In, Cross, Fly Out' toward the bottom of the two-line title list.

Another thing to try, double-click the xml file and make sure it opens up with valid XML and no errors.

When all else fails... walk away. Come back and restart your computer, reopen WMM and presto! You will find the missing file waiting for you like a faithful friend!!!

You did amazing work as always. Thanks!

Sorry to be such a bother... but...

This one I got to load without a problem; however, it does not fly up after it stops in the center. I even restarted my computer and tried it again.

Any ideas?

Did you get the latest? There was one mistake that I had to correct on the EffectFade line. It needs to have evaluation="Linear" at the end. Double-check you have that and try again.
