Barn Doors Transitions
Posted: 24 May 2011 03:19 AM
I originally made this for Windows XP (view post 56349).

Okay, if you have a registered version of ShaderTFX, you can do a barn doors wipe transition as follows:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8">
<Transitions>
<TransitionDLL guid="ShaderTFX.ShaderTransition">
<Transition name="Barn Doors Close" iconid="51" comments="movies.blainesville.com - post 242867" guid="Barn Doors Close" ShaderModel="2">
<Param name="TextureFile" value="%ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\barndoorscloseks3.png" />
<Param name="Technique" value="SMPTEWipeTechnique" />
<Param name="ShaderFilename" value="Shader.fx" />
<Semantics>
<Param name="BorderSoftness" type="float" value="0" />
</Semantics>
</Transition>
<Transition name="Barn Doors Open" iconid="51" comments="movies.blainesville.com - post 242867" guid="Barn Doors Close" ShaderModel="2">
<Param name="TextureFile" value="%ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX\barndoorsqp4.png" />
<Param name="Technique" value="SMPTEWipeTechnique" />
<Param name="ShaderFilename" value="Shader.fx" />
<Semantics>
<Param name="BorderSoftness" type="float" value="0" />
</Semantics>
</Transition>
</TransitionDLL>
</Transitions>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Copy/paste the code above and save it as barndoors.xml somewhere on your computer (say Desktop or Documents, you can't save them in the AddOnTFX folder directly because Windows is trying to protect anything under Program Files.)
Download and save the following image files into the same location:
barndoorscloseks3.png
barndoorsqp4.png

Now copy those three files and place them in C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX

Assuming you've got a registered version of ShaderTFX and you have followed all the steps correctly, you should have two new transitions called 'Barn Doors Close' and 'Barn Doors Open'.
