Video Wall nearly done
Posted: 25 Oct 2008 05:05 AM
Hi all

The videowall I was having so much bother with is nearly done.

Once I've fine tuned it I'll post the code and links to the transparent png and screen cap files for others to use.

Watch this space for updates.

Regards
Colin

Video Wall Finished
Posted: 25 Oct 2008 01:09 PM
Hi all

Well at last it's finishedBig Smile

Thanks must go to neophyte who provided some possible answers. Special thanks to PatrickL who provided the final solution to my problem in a way I would never have thought of.

The overlay image is available for download at flikr . Save the image as cwvideowall2.png in the AddOnTFX folder.

A video showing the title in action can be viewed on Webshots. This is a home video of my Lamborghini drive, a birthday present from my wife, eldest daughter and her boyfriend, and my youngest daughter. I apologise about the quality of the video but it was extremely windy on the day which made it difficult to steady the camera. The background music in the video is Electricity by Alexander Blu.

The xml code is below. This should be saved as CW_VideoWall_Overlay_V2.xml in the AddOnTFX folder (view post 188060 if you have trouble saving to this folder).

Read the notes at the bottom of this post on getting this title to work. You must have ShaderTFX installed.

Notes:
Before adding the title overlay you need to do the following:
Select the image which the title is to be overlaid on then
1. Shrink the image 85% Effect
2. Apply Rehan's MultiScreen 4x4 Effect (from TheOnePB?). view post 126761
3. Shrink the image 90% Effect
4. Select the CW_VideoWall_Overlay_V2 title, edit the text then add it to the title track.

That's it. Hope you like my very first title creation.

Regards to you all

Hi all

If anyone can tell me how to get the overlay to fade in/out I'd be grateful. If I can get this little problem out of the way I'll post revised code.

Please leave any comment good or bad about this title (reply in this post) as it will help me with any further projects I may undertake once I get a better understanding of xml coding etc.

Thanks
Colin

Hi Colin,

I'm not Title-Wise but there is an OverlayTimed Effect that might help you with fade in/out. view post 169910 This one lets you have a timed fadein, fadeout, both inout or neither.

Hi Colin,

Love the video wall, but having an issue with the sizing. You mentioned reducing 85% and then 90%. Can you tell me what effects I need to use to do that? Thanks so much.

Nancys, there are some shrink(letterbox)/expand(crop) effects included in the DPL Frame Effects package. view post 142320 These include the 85% and 90%. FYI, the Frame Effects require ShaderTFX, but the shrink/expand effects don't.
