Need music video style titles
Posted: 02 Mar 2008 12:19 AM
I would like to get an xml for MTV style music video titles. You know, three or four lines that I can list the name of the song, performer, etc, all in the lower left corner for about 30 seconds.

Thanks

Try the following for an MTV-style music video title.

Copy this to Notepad, then save it to somewhere like 'Documents' as musicvideo.xml. Then copy this file to C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX.

When you restart Movie Maker, go to 'Tools' > 'Titles & Credits' > 'Place title on the selected clip'.

Type the text in the first box and press <Enter> between each line, e.g.
Song Title
Artist
Album
Company

The animation you need to pick is called "Music Video Title". It will be under the "one-line" titles, which is a slight misnomer. You can also have one "paragraph" titles there too.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8">
<Titles>
<TitleDLL guid="TFX">
<Title name="Music Video Title" guid="Music Video Title" iconid="13">
<Param name="Animation" value="TitleStandard"/>
<Param name="Description" value="Fading multiline title (lower left)" comments="Blaine's Post #162772"/>
<Paragraph>
<Param name="EntranceDuration" value="0.4"/>
<Param name="EntranceEffect" value="EffectFade" evaluation="linear"/>
<Param name="ExitDuration" value="0.4"/>
<Param name="ExitEffect" value="EffectFade" evaluation="linear"/>
<Param name="ShadowOutline" value="Shadow"/>
<Param name="BoundingRect" value="0.05 0.5 0.9 0.45"/>
<Param name="FontSize" value="18"/>
<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="1024"/>
<Param name="VerticalAlignment" value="Bottom"/>
<Param name="HorizontalAlignment" value="Left"/>
</Paragraph>
</Title>
</TitleDLL>
</Titles>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Tell me how it goes because I actually haven't had a chance to test it yet. And if you want the duration to last longer, be sure to go to the 'Title Overlay' track and stretch the rectangle to last 30 seconds (or whatever).

I was also looking for something like this. Thanks Considerate Guy (pun intended :))

For the solution to make DivX codec workable and still be able to publish refer to my post:

I use this one a lot, because it's just right.
Check my new video (second link in my name) and you will see that's it's good and easy to use and good readable and it takes the right place!
Perfect!

If you had just gone to the XP Transitions section and looked down about 5 posts you would have seen this:
