My News Programmes Graphics still .xml for Windows XP
Posted: 27 May 2007 02:01 PM
Hi,

I make a monthly news programme, ( http://www.youtube.com/clatters99 ). If you take a look at the March Bulletin you will be able to see some of the graphics. However, i have just got Vista, created the Add on file and so on, but the relised that they didn't work. I then read here that they need to be changed to make them work for vista. Is there anyone that can change the information to make them work for vista?

If so please let me know.

Thank you ever so much.

Regards,

clats

I'm assuming all your graphics are done as custom title overlays.

If you go to my movies.blainesville.com website and download the TV Ratings Titles, you'll get the code for both XP and Vista... do a comparison between tvratings.xml and vistatvratings.xml and you'll see the changes you need to make. There are other title overlays there too that you can review.

Basically the changes are:
1) Change the version from 1.0 to 2.8 (first line)
2) Change the long GUID number to "TFX"
3) Add a unique string for guid so it doesn't collide namewise with other titles
4) Change InternalName to Animation

Well one problem is that the font size for the second paragraph is a small fractional amount 0.3... Typically font sizes are 6 or above.

Hi,

Would someone be able to adapt this .xml so that it will work in Vista? I have done my best, but it wont work.

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8">
<Titles>
<TitleDLL guid="TFX">
<Title name="Title Overlay 1" iconid="13" guid="Title Overlay 1">
<Param name="InternalName" value="TitleStandard"/>
<Param name="Description" value="Superimpose image 1"/>
<Param name="LogoBitmapFilename" value="Title 1.png"/>
<Param name="LogoRect" value="0.00 0.00 1.00 1.00"/>
<Paragraph>
<Param name="IsOneLine" value="true"/>
<Param name="BoundingRect" value="1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00"/>
<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="32"/>
</Paragraph>
</Title>
</TitleDLL>
</Titles>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

Thank you ever so much for the help.

Regards and best wishes,

clats

You're almost there, but you forgot to change "InternalName" to "Animation" as noted above:

<TransitionsAndEffects Version="2.8">
<Titles>
<TitleDLL guid="TFX">
<Title name="Title Overlay 1" iconid="13" guid="Title Overlay 1">
<Param name="Animation" value="TitleStandard"/>
<Param name="Description" value="Superimpose image 1"/>
<Param name="LogoBitmapFilename" value="Title 1.png"/>
<Param name="LogoRect" value="0.00 0.00 1.00 1.00"/>
<Paragraph>
<Param name="IsOneLine" value="true"/>
<Param name="BoundingRect" value="1.00 1.00 1.00 1.00"/>
<Param name="MaxCharacterCount" value="32"/>
</Paragraph>
</Title>
</TitleDLL>
</Titles>
</TransitionsAndEffects>

I prefer to do everything on these forums so others can see the problem and the resolution. If you want to post your image on something like imageshack.us and post a link here, I can look at it further.

Did you put your picture in the *Shared* directory (not AddOnTFX)? When you say "I can't make it work" can you describe what you are seeing? Do you see the title animation as a choice or not? If so, what do you see when you apply it? Are you using Notepad to edit your XML? Any other clues?

If you want it in the AddOnTFX folder, change the LogoBitmapFilename to "AddOnTFX/Title 1.png"

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but have been using movie maker v. 6.00 for some time now.

I have been looking at the posting but still can't make out how to get the BBC 140 banner into movie maker.
Ok, i know about the add on tfx folder and how to add transitions+effects but is there a problem with the code? It dosn't seem to work.

Thanks very much,

F.U

P.S, this is a cool banner!

Does it show up in your list of title animations? What do you mean by "it doesn't seem to work"?

Ah! You need to have the correct image file to overlay... and in the correct location on your hard disk. Look in the XML for the file name and path. You must have that exact file there otherwise you'll just get black.

I don't see any reference to the file, so you might have to see if 'clats' can upload it, or check the original thread when he did this for XP (view post 86918)

I apologize... I never realized that the referenced image wasn't in this thread. What I suggest you do is e-mail clats. (Click on his name and find his e-mail address). When you do, can you mention to him that people are looking for the image file. Reference this thread if you can and perhaps he can post it back up for others to use.

Is there a way to edit the code to make the text go to the left of the screen but above the ticker? I have the "My CNN News ticker" on WMM 6.0 on Vista. And about the image, What are the required Image dimensions and colour for the news banner and should I save it in a specific folder? Can you edit the code to make a single-line banner as well?
