Effects Needed for Vista
Posted: 20 Apr 2007 07:44 PM
Hi I am wondering if someone can post the xlm codes for some effects that I need. Here they are:

One Color Hue/Color Filter: An effect that tints the entire video clip with a certain color (red, blue, green, purple, etc.). I have seen the thread for that posts the effects for Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and I need this affect for Windows Vista.

Blurry Edges/Dream Effect: An effect that makes the edges of the video clip (Not The Whole Clip) a blurry white. I need this effect for Windows Vista also.

Cropping Effects: Effects that crop the video to these percentages (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, or as many of these as possible). I need these effects for Windows Vista.

Widescreen Effects: An effect that makes the video a widescreen video without cropping it. I need this effect for Windows Vista.

Fullscreen Effect: An effect that makes a widescreen video a fullscreen video. I need this effect for Windows Vista.

These are the effects I currently need and thank you to everyone that is willing to help me out and everyone that has already helped me out, your help is greatly appreciated.

I fixed the title of the thread
One Color Hue/Color Filter: An effect that tints the entire video clip with a certain color (red, blue, green, purple, etc.). I have seen the thread for that posts the effects for Windows Movie Maker 2.1 and I need this affect for Windows Vista.
I'll see what I can do this weekend.

Blurry Edges/Dream Effect: An effect that makes the edges of the video clip (Not The Whole Clip) a blurry white. I need this effect for Windows Vista also.
I bet I could get this done too, since I did the original dreamy overlay title.

Cropping Effects: Effects that crop the video to these percentages (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, or as many of these as possible). I need these effects for Windows Vista.
Do you want to crop by taking off the top, bottom, all sides, left, right? And if you crop off 90% (for example) and blow up the remainder, it's going to look really bad. I've seen crops that are usually much smaller, and I guess come from all four sides. Is this what you want? Also, is the number the percentage to crop, or the percentage to remain?

Widescreen Effects: An effect that makes the video a widescreen video without cropping it. I need this effect for Windows Vista.
I did this already as a title and have posted it. I will work on doing it as an effect too

Fullscreen Effect: An effect that makes a widescreen video a fullscreen video. I need this effect for Windows Vista.
You'll have to explain if you mean a true 16:9 video cropped to remove the left and right, or if you mean a fake widescreen video (really 4:3 with bars) cropped to remove the bars and the left and right. The second one would seem to be similar to a crop of 25%

Thank you about the title. For the cropping I just need to get rid of subtitles at the bottom and top so I need them to be evenly cropped. For the fullscreen I pretty much just need to blow up the video so that you can't see any black bars.

I can probably get those 2 done soon. The others im not too familiar with and could take me a while to get done, so i guess i'll get these 2 done and you can get the others, sounds good? Wow turdle sure is putting us to work huh? lol. Anyways, yea i'll work on the Hue/color filter and the blurry edges/dream effect and you can get the others. I was auctually never good with effects but im starting to get the hang of it.

I am not understanding this much. Do you mean change 1 picture, to the color red, blue, green, purple, in one picture? Please explain more.

MMK,

Aren't these the same effects you published before, with the fading to a solid color?

Turdle,

I've got the "Dreamy Look" working as a title overlay (note this one works for XP and Vista). It's posted on my Movie Maker Blog.

I'll keep working on the others and let you know.

MMK... sorry, I was already working on the Dreamy Look/Foggy Edges overlay. Hope you don't mind.

Yeah I saw those color tint effects MMK but they don't work for me because they fade out to solid color and start off as the normal picture. I need an effect that tints the whole backround a certain color like a grayscale or sepia effect but with red, blue, green, ect.

I just finished figuring out how to "hack" the Fade effects to apply a color filter to your video. Note: there is one side effect in that it slightly darkens the video. What I would suggest is applying a "Brightness, Increase" effect too. In addition, if you want your video to be *just* the single color, apply a "Grayscale" effect and then the color filter effect.

These are for Vista only. Copy the code to Notepad and save it to your computer as colorfilters.xml. Copy it toC:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Shared\AddOnTFX

Now all I really need is the cropping, the wide screen and the full screen arent really that important.

Can you give me an example screenshot of your original video, and how you want to crop it? Evenly from all sides or just top and bottom, just left and right, etc.?

That won't make it the same aspect ratio anymore, so are you okay with it stretching vertically (everyone gets skinny). Or should the sides be cropped too?
